i've been working at the same place for 15 years and enjoyed it, loved the job the people everything but 18 monthes ago we were taken over by new owners and new management and they have have made alot of changes.
alot of the people i worked with have left due to the changes and i have not been happy for a while now.
the problem is i haven't got any confidence and ifeel stuck in a rut
after another shit day a couple of weeks ago i filled out an application form for another job.
they have emailed me to arrange an interview but my confidence is so low i'm thinking of not going for it.
my main worry is what if i get the job and i'm no good at it and i get the sack, i'm 50 i'm worried i won't get another job.
at the same time i know i don't want to carry on working where i am.
what would you do
sorry if it sounds like i'm rambling my minds all over the place with anxiety

I'm a few years older than you and changed jobs this summer.
Prep well for your interview, and listen to empowering type songs - 'This is me' from Greatest Showman and that Paloma Faith one 'Make your own kind of music' to get you in the right mindset.
Changing jobs was daunting, not going to lie to you! BUT I had to do it for the sake of my mental health (and to avoid committing murder!!).
Best of luck - you may not get the first one you go for, but KEEP LOOKING. Remember that change is good.

I changed jobs 2 years ago aged 46 after 11 years at the same place. I changed again this year and might change again next year as I’m not loving it. You should definitely try it. Nothing to lose and might prompt your employer to give you an enhancement to keep you.

I changed jobs at 52. Best decision ever. Go for it!

Absolutely I would.
You have at least another 15 years to work before you can get your pension. You might as well take any opportunity that looks good.
