Money no object, where would go on holiday?

You have two weeks.
You have been granted an unlimited budget.
You can't bring anything back but photos and memories.

Where do you go? What do you do?

I genuinely can't think of anything exciting myself (ideal holiday would be a cabin somewhere quiet with a very large bed for 2 weeks of sleeping...)

Japan or a tour of South America.

Two weeks isn’t long though!

GandolfBold · 21/10/2018 16:57

I would go to New zealand

anniehm · 21/10/2018 17:16

Japan probably, though maybe Sri Lanka or India. That said we love Provence and two weeks isn't great for long haul, jet lag kills me

anniehm · 21/10/2018 17:19

The Maldives are lovely but the only activity really is scuba diving so if you aren't into that I'm not sure what you want do for two weeks, bit claustrophobic as you are trapped on your resort island, I prefer to be able to escape

SagelyNodding · 21/10/2018 17:23

Tahiti, then cruise the islands on a luxury catamaran with a skipper and crew... It's never going to happen but it's a wonderful dream ☺️

FlyingCat · 21/10/2018 17:44

India - we were actually in this posotion 18 months ago... beach resort for 4 nights followed by a private tour through delhi, agra, jaipur and lots of places in between (including a safari through ranthambore national park where we spotted tigers, and a night in our own private palace from the days of the raj.)
It was truly the holiday of a lifetime.

MonsterChopz · 21/10/2018 17:56

I'd love to go to Patagonia, not sure why it just appeals to me. So I'd spend 1 week looking a glaciers and then move up to mid/North Chile for the second week.

flowerycurtain · 21/10/2018 17:57

Orient express

Maldives. Went for my honeymoon and have been put off booking other holidays because everywhere seems a bit rubbish in comparison I can’t afford to go back any time soon though sadly.

Harrykanesrightsock · 21/10/2018 21:25

I wouldn’t care as long as it was first class flight. Hate even short haul. Travel is draining but a flat bed and real food would be my number one request.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 21/10/2018 21:30

We did two weeks in Mauritius last year with DC' as it was the pastime DH would be able to travel abroad and it was amazing and would go back in a heartbeat, in fact I think its about the only place that I have visited that I would go back to

Stephisaur · 21/10/2018 21:32

I’d go back to Maui. 100%

It’s a beautiful island. I would have a private driver to ferry me around though ;)

vinoandbrie · 21/10/2018 21:47

Back to the Maldives, to the most beautiful resort I could find.

Bliss.

Justlikedevon · 21/10/2018 21:53

Haven't worked out the specifics, but some kind of private tour with no war issues around either the middle East or Africa. I appreciate 2 weeks might be pushing it. But if my budget was limitless, I'd expect huge allowances made by every one and things like visas and travel time would not be issues.

edwinbear · 21/10/2018 22:12

Bora Bora. I’m a keen scuba diver, I’ve been to dive in the Maldives lots of times but desperate to see what it’s like in Bora Bora. I want one of the hotels with a glass floor so I can see the fish swimming around under my feet Grin

FunkyHeroCat · 21/10/2018 22:13

I'd love to go to the Galapagos or go to Borneo to visit the orang utangs (while they're still there Sad).

There's also a hotel I saw on line, I think in Kenya, where they keep windows large and open so giraffes can come and visit.

Definitely something with animals anyway!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 21/10/2018 22:14

Bora Bora - the four seasons !!!!

DevaDiva · 21/10/2018 22:16

@starrynitelight vvvvvJealous! DH and I went for a meal in the 'under the sea' restaurant and for cocktails
in the sky bar 15 years ago, and vowed one day we will actually go and stay there. The service levels were impeccable and it felt like a small insight into how the other half live!

BrickByBrick · 21/10/2018 22:18

Probably Lapland and The Ice Hotel. but the whole 'I won't fly' thing means I would have 2 weeks in Northumbria.

VenusClapTrap · 21/10/2018 22:25

Antarctica

safariboot · 21/10/2018 22:36

The Moon. If SpaceX get their rocket flying there. If not, I'll second Antarctica.

BonnieF · 21/10/2018 22:41

A week in the Galapagos then a week in a super luxury game reserve in South Africa. I would charter a private jet and would employ expert local guides.
