Best online flower delivery?

nomilknosugarplease · 21/10/2018 11:14

I need to send some flowers to an elderly relative for a birthday gift. Which online florists and websites are best these days? I’ve heard too many stories of the flowers turning up smashed to pieces or dead Grin

I use both Waitrose florist and Bloom and Wild
Never been disappointed

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 21/10/2018 11:16

I really like Bunches, have used them a lot and always been happy with them (they sent me an email the other day to say code BN20 gets you 20% off)

NOT serenata. Ducking awful company.

Delivered three bunch of flowers I'd ordered 8 days late and dead and refused to give me any money back.

I like Bloom and wild but the need arranging as most come lying flat in a box.

Floom is amazing if in your area - lots of independent florists and more interesting flowers

Eatmycheese · 21/10/2018 11:22

The real flower company are fabulous

CheekyRedhead · 21/10/2018 11:23

Bloom and wild are fantastic. NOT Appleyard they ruined two friends birthday gifts😡

nomilknosugarplease · 21/10/2018 11:30

Thanks so much all Smile Bloom and Wild - would you say it’s a faff to get them arranged yourself or is it easy? She is 96

Fifithefoof I am so surprised at that. I always used to get my late DMs flowers from them. 8 days late is appalling Shock

wowfudge · 21/10/2018 13:16

I always find a florist local to the person I'm sending to and use them. That way you are not paying a middle man and it's their own reputation on the line. You can always ask them to send you a photo of what they make up. I'd send an arrangement of some sort or hand tied bouquet rather than lose stems. I used to be a florist.

Lilao · 21/10/2018 13:20

Bloom and Wild also do arranged flowers as well.

They tend to arrive a few days before they are in flower so they last about 3 weeks! I absolutely love them, and arranging them is no fuss but for a 96 year old the arranged ones might be better.

Bloom and wild are lovely. I did a year's subscription for my mum's birthday. Use the below for £10 off your first order

I get mine from Marks and Spencer online. They've always been good and reliable.

MulledwineMayhem · 04/12/2018 12:40

I tried home bargains the other week and the flowers were absolutely beautiful and fresh

Redglitter · 04/12/2018 13:48

I'd go for a florist local to her. In my experience you get more flowers for your money & better quality ones too. Having used M&S and Next before I'd never use them.again having seen.the difference

Kneesbendarmstrechedrarara · 04/12/2018 20:41

EXACTLY what cheekyredhead said, to the word. NOT Appleyard, definitely use B&W.

srforster19 · 28/02/2019 15:00

I would recommend Freddie's Flowers. They are always reliable and deliver beautiful, fresh bunches. You can try your first bunch for free if you order with this code SaraF54

Make sure the person will be in though. I got sent a B&W box that was pretty much dead as I'd been away for a long weekend (not their fault at all and I never told the person who sent them quite how bad they were as I didn't want them to know they'd wasted their money)

EmmaBead · 05/04/2019 18:39

I used Bloom & Wild. No problems with them at all.

GeorgiaPeach25 · 28/05/2019 10:39

I know this is an oldish thread, but thought I'd give it a bump!

Personally, I love bloom and wild. I got sent the loveliest bunch just after my baby was born! Smile

They have the option of either letterbox flowers, which come in little nets and need arranging, or some that come with a courier and are prearranged in a bunch that just gets popped in a vase.

The letterbox ones are my favourite personally - they're not too tricky to arrange, you get a good amount for your money (especially if you use a discount code), and I've always found people love the novelty value of it.

They have a really good referral scheme, so thought I'd share mine - you get £10 off, and I get credit added to my account Smile

Once you've registered, they then give you your own referral code to go on and share with others, so you can start earning your own credit too!

Here is my active £10 off code - they've got some gorgeous peonies at the moment!
