What the fuck is this in my house?

Just found this. Don't tell me it's a slug. It's not. I just salted it (sorry I had to as it freaked me out) and it did not behave like a salted slug. Also, it has a 'head' more like some kind of larva but Google is not helping me. Any ideas? I can handle spiders, mice etc but this gives me the shivers.

Yes, my first thought was a leech. Yuk

Elephant14 · 21/10/2018 00:00

So its now under salt? Dead? That's daft as now you can't poke it. All unknown MN wildlife must be poked. Dem's da rules.

Lick it?

GlitteryFluff · 21/10/2018 00:08

It looks like a piece of Terry's chocolate orange to me.

MovingThisYearHopefully · 21/10/2018 00:12

This thread was done a little while ago. Hmm

Chalkhillblu3 · 21/10/2018 00:12

Put your arm near it and see if it shows interest

PippilottaLongstocking · 21/10/2018 00:16

moving do you mean the one where the OP was adamant the thing on her wall wasn’t a snail and then it turned out to be a snail?

I’ve also seen one where someone thought they had a weird creature on the wall and it turned out to be a very mouldy strawberry

JustABrokenDoll · 21/10/2018 00:24

Is it Dr. Adrian Harrop wannabe G.P

Genuinely lol'd at that !

Whatever it is, it's dead now. Chuck it outside and enjoy your nightmares tonight OP.

Haffiana · 21/10/2018 00:25

It is a brain sucking slug. They crawl up your nostril and feast away. They always hunt in packs and they LOVE salt.

Vixxxy · 21/10/2018 00:30

Woodlouse without a shell. It looks like to me anyway

LavendarGreen · 21/10/2018 00:33

Can't get past you salting it. How nasty! Hope it eats you and your family, your dog, your neighbours, and all your food. (Not that you'll need it when slugford has eaten you all!)

SLUGS RULE!!!!!!! Grin

MovingThisYearHopefully · 21/10/2018 12:15

Yeah Pippi. Its basically the same. Even the pic looks the same.

Theyrecomingforme · 21/10/2018 13:41

Moving am I being accused of trolling about a creature in my house 🤣 Seriously?

Or is only one post per subject allowed ever?!

I know exactly the thread you are talking about. I'm a long-term poster. I just did a NC for this.

How the hell is the picture exactly the same as that one? You have a poor memory. It was a blurry snail - i.e. with a shell - vertical, on a white wall. Wasn't it in her DD's bedroom? The poster only believed it was a snail when it had moved.

Whatever it was it has been disposed of.

moving I remember the thread, totally different picture. And my reason for mentioning the strawberry thread was to point out that this kind of thing can happen to more than one person

PippilottaLongstocking · 21/10/2018 15:57

This was the other thread moving, not the same.

Did you lick it? I mean that was my advice on the other thread. I am consistent.

BigusBumus · 21/10/2018 18:12

Large moth chrysalis?

YourVagesty · 21/10/2018 18:18

Why do people put salt on slugs?! Just put it outside! (Not just at OP but at anybody who thinks salting slugs is a good and productive thing to do. Ditto for ants and boiling water. So mindless).

And if you really must kill it, stamp on it to put it out of its misery in an instant, rather than torturing it to death.

Oblomov18 · 21/10/2018 18:31

Ha ha. Now she's a troll, because of the other snail 🐌 thread. Tee hee.

fairypuff · 21/10/2018 18:33

PMSL at the comment that someone really has tried to polish a turd!!! Grin

Gramgram · 22/10/2018 19:05

But late with my offer to identify it. Could it be a leatherjacket?

Worieddd · 22/10/2018 19:09

Bleurgh that doesn’t look like a salt
