..what ones?

Have been thinking recently it would be lovely to sign each of us up for one and get a nice treat every month but I've no idea what's out there beyond birch box and recipe boxes?

There are loads out there!
If you like skincare then lookfantastic,
Mix of make up and skincare then glissybox.
If you want everything cruelty free then love lula or cruelty free beauty box both mix of skincare and make up. All of these £13-15 per month.
More luxurious and completely cruelty free, vegan and natural products then natural beauty box at £25 per month.
Skin organic clean beauty box again luxurious skin care. £25 per month.
If you look on their websites you will hopefully see past boxes to give you an idea.

*glossybox

BarbaraofSevillle · 20/10/2018 22:06

Why not just spend the money on something you know you want rather than gamble with an overpriced surprise that you may or may not actually want?

milienhaus · 20/10/2018 22:09

I really like “reading with heels” - a book every month plus random stuff like make up / skincare / chocolate / teabags.

Norma27 · 20/10/2018 22:14

I would never get reading in heels. So many complaints about people not receiving boxes off them.
I subscribed and they sent me nothing. They then lied and said I hadn’t paid. Luckily I used PayPal and opened a dispute and they got my money back for me. Heard so many more similar stories. Absolute charlatans.

TheMagicTorch · 20/10/2018 22:14

I love my Treatbox - it's 12.95 or so a month and a varied mix of things. Teabags, jewellery, trinkets, facemasks, hand creams etc. They have an Instagram and website

RatBabies · 21/10/2018 13:04

That's a shame about reading with heels as it sounds right up my street.

Do any of you get any aimed at children or teens as well?

The Little Gin Box - www.littleginbox.com/

RatBabies · 21/10/2018 14:31

I think the gin box would be wasted on us as we don't drink in the house unless we have guests but I do know someone it would make a brilliant present for

I get the lollipop box. It’s stationery, and each month it’s a different theme. For example, this month, it’s whats your story?
You get papers, ephemera, a mystery gift, a DIY project, loads of stuff. And a lollipop!
It’s my favourite thing, and my 11yo DD enjoys unboxing it with me (and using all my stuff, grr)

obviouslymarvellous · 21/10/2018 14:37

Don't get pink parcel! I was so excited about the idea of this - all boxes turned up 2 weeks late at least, and therefore I still had to buy Sanitary products. The products sent in the boxes weren't that great either! Have cancelled now as just no point. The only thing I really enjoy is readily and that's not a subscription box

Tattletale · 21/10/2018 14:45

Oh yes readily is great value if you read lots of magazines. I get birchbox monthly. It's a bit hit and miss at times. Some months the items are really good and others a bit meh. I do like the opportunity to try out new products though.

oopslateagain · 21/10/2018 16:19

I get Graze boxes every two weeks, probably not what you're looking for but I've unticked most of the snacks on the website so I only get flapjacks and the little cakes with a gourmet teabag, they're lovely.

Babybearsporij · 21/10/2018 17:33

I really love my Graze boxes too. There's a really nice variety of stuff, sweet and savoury. Sometimes I add to to lunchboxes or just scoff them myself.

greensnail · 21/10/2018 17:49

I'm a bit of a sucker for these. We have a Lego subscription (welovebricks.com) and dd2 gets a bookabees box, which is 3 books a month for her. Dd1 subscribes to national geographic rocks collection. And i get lots of random things like washing tablets and razors by subscription.

CoperCabana · 21/10/2018 17:54

I love the idea of these but presumably these all use little plastic bottles and packages? Probably a silly question but are any eco friendly?

Norma27 · 21/10/2018 19:47

Skin organics and natural beauty box do use lots of glass ir biodegradable packaging. Especially skin organics.

There are other book ones around too but would need to look them up again as not actually subbed to them. Such a shame reading in heels are so bloody terrible as the concept is good. Honestly, do not trust them with a penny of your money.

Pink parcel mentioned above I have had too. Can be hit and miss. Last couple of months not so good tho. Wouldn’t surprise me if they do a great box for November tho because of the bad reviews they got this month and last month.

Another one who would rather just go and buy something I actually want. Not interested in random surprises. Especially a book. I'm fussy.

BloodyBosch · 21/10/2018 20:45

I love pink parcel, not had any problems with it

CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese · 21/10/2018 20:50

I love to try different boxes. I've just signed up to LittleKnownBox. They deal exclusively with ethically produced British beauty products.

SawnUpLooRoll · 21/10/2018 20:53

I get Papergang. It's stationery and aimed at not-children (I'd say adults, but some teens would love it!).

You usually get five items occasionally more, and these could be a notebook, A4 organiser pad, wrapping paper, greeting card, pens, pencils, pin badge, shaped paperclips, functional stickers, etc... always one big item like a notebook or pad.

Each month has a different theme or style from a guest artist. Best £12 a month I've spent on a sub box!

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 21/10/2018 20:57

Teenage DS gets Japan Crate, full of strange and wonderful Japanese sweets and drinks and collectibles but he's really into Japanese video games and Manga

Sitranced · 21/10/2018 21:24

Munchpak. Box of 5 or 10 (your choice) random munch from around the world. Crisps, sweets, chocolate, lolly pops in all sorts of weird and wonderful flavours.

Agonyauntagatha · 21/10/2018 22:04

I’d love the letterbox service from Bloom & Wild.

Some of these ideas are great - what an eye-opening question....& replies!
