Ideas for a food box for friend in America...

Just that, really! A friend who has moved to Texas asked if I would do a good swap with her- she would post some American goodies and I would post British goodies. She ended up giving hers to a relative who was visiting and returning to the U.K. so didn't pay for any postage, whereas I'm concerned mine is going to cost loads! What could I put in (British food) that won't weight loads?

@DolceFarNiente they don't do any of the meat flavours.

You can get English bacon, it's just called Canadian bacon.

You can get jammy dodgers and pringles.

And you can get shortbread.

I bulk but germoline and tcp when I'm there.

My friend asked for those packets of Birds Instant Custard when she was living in Philly.

I think it probably will cost a bit but what a lovely gift.

If she’s around Houston there is a british store in rice village and the woodlands i believe (british isles I think it’s called). Yes pricey but will be cheaper than you sending things. I think they do delivery also so you could check it out and compare costs and maybe order from there.

Also world market, local supermarkets and fiesta (at xmas) all have a good selection of british food. The one thing I’d send would be crisps. That’s something I haven’t seen .

blue. Tell your sister about Parker’s. They have excellent sausages, steak bakes and scotch eggs, pork pies etc... I’ve ordered in the past and everything was excellent.

Parker’s

Oh they have free shipping now on $100+ orders, I might have to put one in

Not the US but friend who lives abroad always takes loads if quacers, hot chocolate -cadbury ones, crunches, flakes, winegums, hobnobs, Branson pickle!

Fifithefoof · 20/10/2018 17:54

I didn't know about Parker's. I'm literally in tears.

@HerRoyalNotness Thanks for the recommendation. I'll let my sister know about the free shipping as I think that's what's made them expensive to use in the past. They're in Cali the lucky gits
