Universal credit??

Hi, so sorry no idea where to post this one.

I'm right in the middle of applying for universal credit as I am currently too ill to work. I am currently on sick leave and planning on emailing my notice on Monday morning. It is only a weeks notice. My problem is, the application asks if I am still working, do I say yes and then have to contact them in a week and say no, or do I just put no I'm not working now even though I technically am? Im so confused so any help would be very appreciated!

Delay the application by a week so you've actually finished working.

It sounds like you need contributory ESA rather than UC (assuming you're paid up for the past few years on your National Insurance)

Given your circumstances, I'd try to avoid UC if at all possible.

Do you have children or rent?

Wait until you have finished working as during the application your employer will report final earnings, which can skew it if you say you are not working.
If you claim you’re not working you may have to show your evidence again.

But I would avoid it if possible, I have had no end of trouble with it and wish i had stayed on tax credits until I had no choice next year.

when it asks are you working and you say no it then asks have you stopped working in the last 9 month's. If you say yes then the RTI feed is set up so the last wage will get reported for op anyway
