Cat spraying - help please

I've posted this in 'the litter tray', but posting here too for traffic as I'm desperate 😩

Can anyone help with some info as to why my male cat is spraying indoors? He’s 3 years old, neutered and perfectly healthy. He goes out every day, and basically comes and goes as he pleases. There’s always food and a clean litter box available. I can’t think of any reason why he’d be stressed or unsettled so I don’t get why he’s doing it. For info, I do have another cat, his sister, they have always got along just fine so no drama there.

I’ve bought the Feliway plug in, but it doesn’t seem to be helping. If it keeps up he might have to go. 😢

Have you had him checked out at the vets as it may be a urinary problem?

Perhaps another Tom has moved into the area and he's feeling threatened.

Try some Zylkene capsules. You open the capsule and mix with food. They're great for stress related problems.

I'd pay a visit to the vets though as a start.

Also, try putting down another litter tray somewhere very quiet and perhaps try a different litter.

Definitely go to the vets.

You should have two litter trays if you have two cats.

What kind of cat flap does he have? Have other cats being getting in the house?

Thanks. I'll take him to the vet. He doesn't really use the litter box as he prefers to go outside. I work from home so he hops in and out of the kitchen window throughout the day. No other cats have been in the house. I think I'm becoming more stressed than he is because of it.

If he does not have constant access to outside then you really need a litter tray.

He needs a checkover at the vet.

Is your female cat behaving normally?
