Have you had to put the heat on?

Not very exciting, sorry!

Are we the only ones? We try and wait until as late in the year as possible to put the heat on, and we make sure to use sweaters and slippers and that, but still!
We have had snow , it back up to 4°C, but going to get colder again.
I was hoping to make it to the end of October at least!

Anyone else had to crack and put the heat on?

Yes, put it on when it became a bit chilly. My husband has to get up very early and said it's really cold first thing so we make sure it is on at least for a while before he rises.

It does seem funny after it being so hot for so long. It's still quite mild considering we're more than half way through October.

I love my heating though, it goes on at the first shiver.

We have oil heat, so not the most expensive but not cheap either!
I try to hold off until November, but Mother Nature isn't cooperating

In other news I'm going skiing tomorrow at a nearby ski resort that opened today.

Maybe it is OK to have my heating on...

No, not yet.

I generally hold off until 1st Nov

We all still have our summer duvets plus blankets on (4.5 tog) and none of us have been cold at night

Most days for the past few weeks. Everyone has had the lurgy and I'm sick of the crappy weather already. There was ice crystals melting on the car window this morning. Bring on summer and warmth.

MeanTangerine · 19/10/2018 20:14

Yes, have been for ages. Feeling cold - if you are lucky enough to have a choice in the matter - is a mug's game.

YesitsJacqueline · 19/10/2018 20:16

I'm in Essex. It's been on twice , only for half hour at a time!

anitagreen · 19/10/2018 20:22

I have mine on all year round and just open my windows as I like to know the kids bedrooms warm, but I love a cold house I don't know why

olderthanyouthink · 19/10/2018 20:22

What?! It's still warm-ish out and I really feel the cold! I'm in London though... Flat has huge sash windows but I think they are better insulated than I thought.

Heating went on at the beginning of the week as boiler was being replaced but that's it.
