Cheap winter break

So I have just been told I'm getting a rebate as I have overpaid student loans. Hurrah! I can add a bit to it from savings and have around £1100. Has anyone done Eurodisney for a family of four for about three days on this??? Any other suggestions?

When are you thinking of going?

Branleuse · 18/10/2018 18:47

I wouldnt call eurodisney a cheap break at any time of year

Either week between christmas and new year or week after new year. Don't think we can afford to be away for new years eve because everything seems to be super expensive then.

Just looked at Centre Parcs and its way more than we have! Think my idea of a winter break is maybe pie in the sky.

Have you thought of places like Spain or like a city break in one of the European cities which have lovely Xmas markets? How old are your children, do you have o keep to school holidays?

Bloodybridget · 18/10/2018 20:12

I bet you could get a few days away, just not an expensive place like Eurodisney. Maybe an eastern European city? For example four nights in Lyubljana for under £300 pp (of course I don't know how old your DCs are).

Check out european centerparcs. Belgian, dutch and german ones are much cheaper than uk.

Kids are 9 and 5 so a city break is totally doable! I like the idea of an eastern European city. I also did not know that there were European centreparcs so that is a great tip!

You can do euro tunnel with Tesco club card vouchers and go to a Belgian or northern French Centre parks. Belgian has some lovely cities as well with great Xmas markets and decorations.
