Anyone want to guess how much getting new windows will cost me?

Looking at moving house, and the house will need new windows. Obviously can’t get a company round until bought it, so just trying to guesstimate to add in costs of moving. It’s got 17 windows, one front door, one back door and a bifold door (currently 3parts).

Looking for either white or the grey frames, standard windows, nothing overly fancy pants.

Anyone got any rough guesses for me? To the nearest grand?

In our last house we got solid wood double glazing from a local joinery company, (not fancy or sash). The cost was less than the highest of our PVC quotes!
I loved it: I hate having tons of plastic as part of the fabric of the house. We've moved now though, so are back to PVC!

70,000 Shock

My two front windows are corner windows so hate to think how much they would cost to replace.

Having mine done next week.

13 windows - many of them large (old Victorian property) with dummy sashes and cottage bars (in keeping with existing windows style) plus a new back door: £12K. I got a bit of a discount as I said they could use the house in their advertising. Plus I cut down on the number of openings - some of the windows just have top openings rather than full windows, this cuts the cost down too.

I have to say I am looking forward to it as there are a couple of windows that have holes in the wood and one that's falling apart. Hopefully I will be a lot warmer this winter without the draughts!

12k sounds a lot more reasonable.

Well, it would've been hard to tell for us, as we were in a cul-de-sac, in a village in the middle of nowhere so there wasn't any sound!

But anyway I don't see that that would be the case: the windows had a sealed double glazing unit inside, and hardwood frames, which are going to be much denser than plastic. They had seals too.
The big problem with wooden windows is that you have to keep varnishing or painting them every few years!
