So how often you take children on holidays and days out?

Where do you like taking them?

We have one holiday a year, last few years has been Butlins. We also had a night away at the seaside this summer (the one weekend it rained!!)

We tend to do days out to places like Peppa Pig world, aquarium, zoo etc every couple of months and local days out to farms etc every month or so.

lovetherisingsun · 16/10/2018 13:46

We've never been on holiday with them (5 years). Tend to do parks, National parks, beach, aquarium.

Holidays - twice a year. One abroad one in the UK.

Days out - mainly half terms. We live in Skegness so spend most weekends at the arcades/ on the beach.

Two holidays abroad a year normally, both between 1 and 2 weeks long. Between three and six long weekends away, camping or in holiday homes. We go out most days on weekends and school holidays but normally just for walks or to visit family. Maybe once a month we go to a play farm, theme park, zoo or trampoline park.

I think there’s different weeks of half terms this year?

Quite often but we have invested in National Trust membership plus annual passes to a zoo and two theme parks. Each day out is quite cheap as we make the most of them. Most weekends we go sonewhere- one of the above or the beach, forest walk, country park etc for cheaper options.

One UK cottage holiday each year and 2 weeks abroad.

notsurewhatshappening · 16/10/2018 17:34

DCS are 8 and 5

Musicalstatues · 16/10/2018 17:36

Holiday once a year for 3 weeks abroad.
Days out and weekends away quite a lot but we have Merlin passes and national trust etc.

SkinnywannabeKBH · 16/10/2018 17:36

We bought a wee touring caravan at the beginning of May so we've been out pretty much every other wkend really this caravan season.
We also have wee family days out every so often to forest parks, national trust areas. We just take a picnic and wellies and away we go

Onlymeyousee · 16/10/2018 17:37

Notsure- which theme parks and zoo out of curiosity?

Skinny- how do you find carvanning? Would like to buy one to try out, but not too expensive lol.

I suppose it’s easier for families that have more going on in their area.

Abroad at least once a year, always in the summer. Like to go away April and October too although this could be just in the UK but often to the Canaries.

At the weekends we usually go one day out that costs money and the other day we will go a walk somewhere local and to a park, down the beach or to a national trust place.

Nellyelora · 16/10/2018 18:17

Week go on holiday for a week, usually abroad.

We do a lot of day trips Blush. We have National Trust, RHS and Royal Palace membership so do something with one of those most weekends, I think they're good value. We also have the couples railcard so go into London for the free museums 3/4 times a year. We do a kids farm, zoo or theme park once a year (for dd's birthday).

Dd is 3, I expect in the future we'll buy a Merlin pass as we are close to a lot of the attractions so we would make our monies worth.

Growing up I only ever had two holidays with my family and day trips were a rarity so it is something that's important to me.
