We are off to a party at our local soft play...I'm trying to convince my dc to recycle their old Halloween costumes as I really don't want to buy new costumes to wear once...such a waste!

They are desperate to go trick or treating but I can't bear the thought of it...seems so embarrassing to knock on peoples doors asking for food!

DC2 and 3 have a soft play party, they are 6. I have bought them a werewolf and a pink and sparkly witch costume from sainsbury's.

We will be doing halloween dinner - spiderweb pizza (ham to make the design), severed fingers (sausages in ketchup) and eyeballs in blood (red jelly with white chocolate buttons with edible pen to make into eyeballs). oh and bubbling potions (lemonade with food colouring) they are all allowed to invite a friend and dress up for this.

DS1 will use his harry potter costume, although he is arguing it isnt halloweeny enough Hmm

i don't do trick or treating.

other half term plans include a trip to Harry Potter Studio with DS1, a sports activity camp for DS2 and pottery painting, lunch and shopping day for DD1.

DS2 and DD1 are also going to Longleat with the GPs.

May also consider a bowling trip.

My Grandchildren are going to a soft play party.

We are lucky that there's been craft stuff on in the local libraries, all week. I took my eldest GD to a Fire Sprite/Wilo the Wisp outdoor, woodland show last Sunday.

There's a Fair on locally, with other stuff and fireworks on Friday. Then on Saturday we are going on the Roy Castle Spooky Welly Walk, which has a Fair, as well.

On Sunday, there's another Woodland walk.

That sounds nice Smile

My DC break up tomorrow. I’m having an ELCS on Monday so they will be staying with my DM who is luckily a TA so the timing has worked out well. They’ll no doubt go trick or treating/having a Halloween party with her.

On Friday we’re going to carve pumpkins, decorate our Halloween tree, do some Halloween baking, have a Halloween inspired dinner and watch Halloween films. All the things we usually do on actual Halloween, just early because of the baby’s arrival Smile.

We're on half term now.

Mon-wed me and DH are in work and DD is at holiday club. Tomorrow we're off to Wales with the dog for 3 nights, come back Sunday.

Actual Halloween night, nothing. I work late, dm collects DD from school, by the time DH has picked her up and got her home its bedtime. Don't really 'do' Halloween

Twinklz · 24/10/2018 21:19

Anyone else?

We're off to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park's Halloween event on Saturday.

Visiting a cactus greenhouse on Monday morning (with a view to taking my Rainbows in summer next year but the man who owns it says it's still good to see now!).

Local (ish - it's a half hour walk each way) Halloween event on Wednesday, followed by spooky tea of some sort at home, then trick or treating. 8yo dd2 is going as a chilly cheerleader (blue lips, black eyes and lots of sparkles going on Hmm ).

Not a clue for the rest of the week; dd1 needs a new coat at some point so probably a mooch into town one day.

More than likely the rest will be spent at home; that's actually loads for us but I've saved for the Wildlife Park & bus fares for Monday so don't actually need to spend anything I haven't already accounted for, I don't think.

There is a farm about 15 miles away that we go to every year it’s brill they do a spooky maze ( loads of scary scarecrows) that leads to a massive field with thousands of pumpkins. They also have a craft tent with Halloween activities in its a great few hours out. Our local pub is also having a kids party and me and my neighbour will take the kids trick or treating Smile

Beach11 · 24/10/2018 21:36

DS 5 got a skeleton costume from Aldi for £5, he thinks it’s fab. Going to an organised Halloween party. Went to pick & carve pumpkins today and did Halloween arts n crafts.

Twinklz · 25/10/2018 09:58

Lots of places seem fully booked now aren’t they?
