We dont have a will. We need to make one. A local solicitors in our town is participating. DH has 3 other children pmus our DS. 2 DC from previous marriage and 1 from previous relationship. So Im assuming they will do one no matter how complex?

Sorry to be pedantic, but you need two wills, one for each of you.

Do you have to make a donation to charity in exchange for the free will?

I'd give a shout out for our @mumblechum1 - she's done wills for lots of MNetters (including DH and me). Something so important is worth paying for.

My husband and I took advantage of this a couple of years ago.something we kept saying we ought to do after I had been diagnosed with cancer. We donated the money to Macmillan as they were very good when I was having treatment. My husband died very unexpectedly 6 months later - having made a will it made a traumatic time so much easier for me.

You still need one each. They can be mirror wills if you like, ie saying the same thing as each other.

Yes go for it, and as others have said, make a donation to charity. One of my relatives died without one (had been ill for years and was a solicitor) and it took months to sort things out, even with no disagreements amongst the family about the worldly goods left behind.
