DDs friend has started "bullying" her

DD (7) came home from school last week saying one of her good friends had started bullying her. She's name calling and stamping on her feet if either of their other friends gives DD attention (group of 4 girls) but makes sure she's doing it away from the other girls view. I told DD to talk to her friend and tell her she's making her feel bad. DD has come home today saying she'd talked to her friend who said she wouldn't stop. DD put a note in the schools Worry Box about this last week but nobody has spoken to DD about it yet (I'm not sure how often the boxes are checked).

Through them being friends I know the girls Mum, should I message her or wait to see if school do something first?

Why don’t you speak to her teacher first?

She's stamping on your DD's feet and you told your DD to 'tell her she's making her feel bad'? Shock Hmm

I would speak to her teacher. DD when through a similar thing from year 4, she had a lovely group of friends then one day the 'leader of the group' decided she didn't like DD any more so most of the group started being horrible.

We have had a similar situation with DS. A few of his friends have turned on him at football and at school (same boys).
I tried the parents, football team manager and school.
To some extent it is resolved but be prepared to lose the friendship of the mother.

Well one of my "friends" started bullying me around age 7. We were a group of around 6. It lead to years of torture and isolation for me on going until I was about 14. She ended up getting them all onside, she was very manipulative. My parents went to the school constantly, my dad went to her and others doors. Nip it in the bud quickly OP. I didn't tell my parents straight away so that's what probably made it worse.

Stamping on her feet!!!
Are you waiting until she starts bashing her head off the wall before you start doing anything?
Jesus wept, i would have been down at the school faster than shit off a shiny shovel.
Take your DD to school in the morning, print off a copy of the school anti bullying policy ( it will be on the school website) , highlight the parts that bulling can be physical (✅ ) emotional ( ✅ ) and threatening (✅) and tell the school secretary you are not leaving until you have spoken to the headmaster.
Sort this out! Your poor little girl is scared and you are leaving her exposed to this Shitty bully.

Thank you for the helpful replies. We have had a meeting at school this evening and a plan has been put into place. DD is feeling a lot better about the situation, fingers crossed it all gets sorted.
