Question about Tesco receipt

BuckBuckMcFate · 14/10/2018 19:12

Hoping someone organised who keeps receipts can help

If I bought a Tesco finest product such as bacon, would it show as "Finest bacon" or just as "Bacon"

Thank you Smile

Can't help but I'm intrigued Grin

I know Morrisons does say etc M Signature Ham rather than Ham.

Janek · 14/10/2018 19:15

It will say something different from what it wiuld say if you bought normal bacon, but whether the average customer could tell which was which or not is another matter.

StoorieHoose · 14/10/2018 19:21

Has someone been buying the cheap stuff, putting it a Finest packet and tell you it’s Finest??

TokyoSushi · 14/10/2018 19:25

Or are you buying finest & pretending it's the cheap stuff? I think it would say finest on the receipt, or at least something different to normal bacon

BuckBuckMcFate · 14/10/2018 19:32

I'm not buying bacon, finest or value 😊

I'm trying to understand what has been purchased on a Tesco receipt

I can find receipts of my own for Morrison's, Asda, Aldi but none from Tesco and I just need to know if it was standard Tesco or Finest

Not at all intriguing sorry!

But WHY do you need to know Grin

BasinHaircut · 14/10/2018 19:38

I also really need to know why you need to know.

Not helpful sorry!

LL83 · 14/10/2018 19:41

Sometimes Tesco receipt is clear other times it is not.

Cold meet offer is what comes up for the ham, it isn't finest or value.

PuppyMonkey · 14/10/2018 19:41

We’ll be the judge of whether it’s intriguing or not OP. But you do need to tell us WTF you are on about.

LL83 · 14/10/2018 19:42

Look up the item online and you should get an idea if it was finest or not.

RollyCow · 14/10/2018 19:42

Could you check the price with that of tesco groceries online? That should tell you what kind it is.

SueDunome · 14/10/2018 19:42

My home delivery ones say Tesco and Tesco Finest

pastabest · 14/10/2018 19:42

It might be quicker to just go to Tesco and buy some bacon...

BuckBuckMcFate · 14/10/2018 19:46

I have the receipt

It just says Bacon

I need to know if Tesco receipt would differentiate between Finest or not Finest

I've never seen the bacon in question!

This is to do with my job

OP posts:
BasinHaircut · 14/10/2018 19:50

TBH OP I’d expect it to differentiate bacon in more ways than just finest/non finest. What about streaky, thick cut, smoked/unsmoked?

What sort of job do you have? Bacon detective?

LL83 · 14/10/2018 19:51

How much is the bacon?

TulipsInBloom1 · 14/10/2018 19:52

Go to tesco online, pull up bacon, look for same priced bacon. Does it have a product code on the receipt?

Petalflowers · 14/10/2018 19:53

Look online to see if the price tallies with the Finest price, or the ordernary price.

topcat2014 · 14/10/2018 19:53

I am going to change my job title from Finance Director to Bacon Detective - sounds much cooler..

BuckBuckMcFate · 14/10/2018 19:56

Grin at Bacon Detective. I may update my email title with that!

No product code on there... just "Bacon"

OP posts:
RhubarbAndCustards · 14/10/2018 19:56

Just checked mine as bought Finest sausage rolls. It just says 4pk saus rolls. No mention of them being Finest —and bloomin’ expensive!

BuckBuckMcFate · 14/10/2018 20:02

Thank you RhubarbandCustards Smile

I will check price on receipt against price on website and hopefully solve this!

Tesco receipts are usually really unspecific, and tend to just say things like "pie" or"cheese". So I wouldn't expect it to say Finest or even the pack size.
