Anyone get grossly sweaty hair during workouts?

I have very fine hair and although I'm very fit I sweat a lot during exercise. My hair can literally be dripping. I've tried tying it back, having it loose, sweat bands etc. Nothing keeps it tame and dry.
I do a contact sport and I think it grosses out my training partners as we have to touch heads sometimes.
Once sweat from my hair literally sprayed onto someone Sad
I'm losing confidence. Interestingly the sweaty blokes don't care!
I wash my hair before and after every workout too.

Ha I literally just had the same thought as I combed out my post gym sweat soaked hair that was looking lovely this morning. Worst is my fringe, the sweat drips off it and into my eyes if I forget my hairband.

I never used to sweat as much, but I don’t know if it’s because I’m training harder or if it’s an age thing!

I wash my hair before and after every workout too.

What’s the point in washing it before?

I also get very sweaty during a workout. Isn’t that the sign of properly exerting yourself?

My ponytail drips when running. I find wearing a wide headband helps soak it up a bit

Can you tie it back into a tight bun (think ballerina) it should contain the sweat and at least not drip off the ends of your hair.
I wouldn't worry about it too much though it really is normal. Remember that everyone is different.
I don't sweat at all during workouts but my 10yo stepdaughter literally drips with sweat when she's in a class.

I'm a head sweater. Other women pull off their hat for ski lunch and reveal glossy bouncy waves... I was once called "sir". Blush

I also ride a lot and when I take my hat off I'm drenched - any form of exercise necessitates hair washing.

Yes. I've just been hoovering the house and by the time I got to the stairs it was running down my temples and into my eyes. I look like I just stepped out of the shower.

I gave up learning ballroom dancing for this reason too.

It really can't be to do with fitness levels, as I said I'm pretty fit!
Just genetics probably and I do give any sport or workout my all.
I'm always perplexed by the ladies who look completely unclustered, sweat free and made up!
I have to wrestle with blokes and they really do sweat and stink Grin and it doesn't gross me out. So hopefully my dripping locks don't bother others. It's just sweat after all!

I'm like this too. My hair gets so soaked and my forehead sweats too. It's really annoying. It's not fitness related as it happens even when I'm not moving and I'm just hot.

I wear a Hygge band. Absorbs most of the sweat.

All my sweat comes out of my head. Although I’m really unfit but when I exercise / get hot my head will PUMP with sweat and I can look like I’ve just stepped out the shower in 5 minutes.
During the summer I buy a spray called Odaban from Amazon. It’s a bit like driclor but a spray. Part your hair and spray, part again in another place and spray, make sure you get all over (I usually flip all my hair one side and work to the other IYSWIM) you do it last thing at night and wash your hair in the morning. Do it 3/4 nights in a row then every couple of days, building up to once a week. It blocks sweat glands, I’d say 90% better. Just where I’ve missed it still sweats. It does itch a bit, and when I get hot my head feels tingly lol, but I’ve had no adverse side effects and it means I can walk around in summer without looking like a dripping mess. Might be worth giving a shot?

I’m a head sweater too. I also go bright red and sweat drips from my face. My lower half doesn’t really sweat much though. I am always amazed at people on here who only wash their hair once or twice a week.

I find wearing a stretchy headband works best - it collects the bulk of the sweat. It is so annoying as I’d love to do spin classes at lunch but post-workout me would frighten the colleagues without plenty of time-intensive remedial action.

Lots of dry shampoo in your roots before a session and a wide absorbent sweatband
