Just as the title says, my dd is almost one and my minds completely blank on what I could get for her, any ideas would be appreciated xx

DD is 13 months and her most played with birthday present so far is her Toot Toot garage and vehicles. They've recently put out a new version of it, so I got the old one for a good price (£30 instead of £45) and I think the old version looks more fun anyway!

At that age I got mine a large bundle of second hand plastic fruit, veg, plates, cups etc from ebay. He's 3 and a half now and still playing with it every day.

We got DD a Zany Zoo Activity Cube for her first birthday this year. It's a lovely quality toy (look out for Amazon deals) and she's still enjoying it 9 months on. Also, a selection of picture books (as opposed to board books) which she's really enjoying, and some hand puppets.

My ds had a little cleaning trolley he was very attached to at that age - little mop, vacuum and dust pan and brush. He also loved a toy smartphone (and all other annoying beeping electronic toys). Mega blocks or wooden building blocks good too. If you have lots of relatives buying then I would think of things that are aimed at a slightly older age group you can put away for the 18mth + stage like toy tea set, simple jigsaws, toy kitchen and accessories, happyland stuff.

A ball run

We bought Dd a little tikes rocking horse (blue one). It was used by all 3 kids and passed on 15 years later to the local playgroup where it is still in use. She is now 23!

Yes Little Tykes plastic outdoor stuff is excellent and lasts for ages and ages.

Thanks for starting this thread OP.Flowers DS2 will be celebrating his first birthday soon and we have no idea what to get him.Blush

My eldest got a wheelie bug that my youngest 21 mths adores and he plays with it far more than the oldest did.

Brick trolley has been well used by both kids.

Toot-toot has been another big hit by both kids.

Ball pit a was a 5 minute wonder.

We inherited a little tikes rocking horse. It must be 15 years old and still going strong.

Don't be scared to look at 18mth toys too. The stage between 12 & 24 mths is huge. You don't want to get half way through the year and think "i wish it was time for new toys"

Biggest hit for ds was the fisher price lion piano. It’s on offer in asda for £20 at the moment.

Also got him a buggy (argos £7.99) and baby, galt pop up peg game (£8.99 amazon) happy land bus (elc £22.99) tea set, shopping basket with plastic fruit/veg and a toaster with toast that pops up (all tk maxx)

Most played with i’d say were the balloons!

Totally agree with @AvoidingDM on the getting a few toys that are aimed at the older age - we faced the same thing around March of this year when all toys were sort of outgrown and other toys were a little too old - so would recommend aiming at around the 18mth mark - I've found rotating my sons toys also works wonders as he gets bored after a while.

Thankyou for your helpful replies, my battery went whilst I was shopping so didn't get them till I got home, I got her some lovely presents but always question myself whether I got the right things/ or enough xx
