Do you prefer a bride to wear a veil?

I get married in a month and will be wearing a veil. I think they just finish the bridal look off and when i tried my dress with a veil it was the final piece of the puzzle. I also think they look more romantic?

What do you think?

I think the bride should wear whatever she likes.

I had a veil but I’ve seen beautiful brides who did wear one. I’ve seen beautiful brides who didn’t wear a traditional dress either.

It’s just clothes, they’re fun but ultimately unimportant.

I was more excited about my veil than my dress! I absolutely loved it.
MrsTommyBanks my nan always wore a black veil over her face to funerals. I agree with you, a veil at my dad's funeral would have been most welcome.

I had one (church wedding) but didn't have it covering my face. I have enough trouble being able to see without another hazard.

I never wanted a veil, my mum, sister and the lady in the bridal shop all argued strenuously that I should wear one. Eventually I gave in and tried one on - everyone unanimously agreed that it wasn't a good look on me Grin

Hate them - think they ruin the look.

I didn’t wear one, I also wore boots instead of shoes, and we got married on a Sunday which was unusual. Each to their own, try a few on and see how you feel.

I've seen a few very tasteful ones but the cheap long mesh ones with a shorter flap at the front look hideous.

EdWinchester · 12/10/2018 20:12

I also think they especially daft on an older bride.

MouldyVoldy · 12/10/2018 20:14

I was thinking about veils today actually. I'm getting married in 2020 and intend to wear one. And realised that none of my friends have worn one. It think they look pretty.

I didn't wear one at my wedding but I regret not doing so. The veil I would have bought cost the same as a hat son I thought I would be original and wear a hat. I wish I hadn't now. The hat was ok but it was my only opportunity to wear a veil and I wish I had gone for it. I am a traditional sort of person though. There is nothing wrong with not having a veil, but it does look romantic.
