...not just nervous, I was wondering if anyone has ever been to a wedding where the bride or groom were too ill to go. I've never heard of it happening in a long life of wedding going, but it must happen..

Blimey, RandomMess, that's awful.Sad
I suppose the adrenaline thing must explain why it doesn't happen much- my ds managed to be King Lear with proper flu once........

I didn't see all of the wedding yesterday but what I did see I noticed right away that Jack looked really ill. I saw him grab Eugenie's hand a couple of times. I wondered about nerves but he did look ill. Maybe he had cold/flu. I hope it was just nerves and that the new married couple had a great time at the dinner and reception.

I totally think adrenaline kicks and and prevents illness.

I'm a farmer and I never get ill at Harvest. September however when I have time to be ill you can guarantee I'll have a cold.

Or like teachers who stagger on to the end of term, then go down with some vile lurgy as soon as the Christmas holidays start.

A friends oldest brother who was the groom went out with his parents and brothers and sisters for a meal the evening before his wedding, they had already had a rehearsal the evening before due to availability after main course he ordered himself a knickerbocker glory with nuts, he went into anaphalysis despite never having a problem before. He got out of hospital as quick as possible but the time he got discharged was 30 mins after he was due to get married but all went on hold and bride stayed put at her house till he got home and had a shower and changed and got to ceremony. He took it very easy that day.

My FIL was arrested (wrongly) the night before he was due to get married and made it by changing into his suit into the back of a car on way to the ceremony. The bride was held back although there were no mobiles over 40 years ago one of his neighbours ringing one of her neighbours who told her sister who promptly spilt a glass of water over her to delay her without telling her he was going to be late.
