Bleeding after menopause

Sorry posting here for traffic Blush

I've not had a period for 18 months and have definitely gone through the change - had lots of hot flushes/mood swings etc that now seem to be easing.

Yesterday and today noticed a tiny drop of blood on the toilet paper after a wee. Bit disconcerting really.

Have googled ( I know I know ) and have read that any blood loss not matter how small needs checking. Have rang GP and explained what's going on and got an appointment later on.

Just wondering if anyone has had this and what was the outcome. Feel a bit dramatic getting an emergency appointment to be honest.

As expected the GP has referred me under the two week pathway, he was very lovely and said he wasn't unduly concerned but felt it best to get checked out.

Thank you everyone for your comments.

That sounds scary IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere but I'm pleased it was all okay in the end. I'm taking some reassurance from that as I am anxious about the endometrial thickening and what it might mean.

Quicknamechange2108 - hope it all goes well for you,.

I wasn't scared at all until they called my husband in to talk about "the next steps". He was saying how sorry he was to give me such bad news etc - and yet when they got the polyps out all was well.

Take all the steps as though it could be a worst case scenario but plenty of grounds to be hopeful that it is nothing nasty.

I also had PMB eight years after the menopause!!! Got referred within 2 weeks, had numerous tests, scans, biopsy (ouch ouch ouch!!!) etc. End result was nothing sinister but they did find a large but harmless ovarian cyst so I am now waiting for keyhole surgery to get that sorted. Try not to worry, & I'm sure the NHS will do a great job in finding out the cause of your symptoms.

I bet that was a shock after 8 years! Good to hear you were ok and yes we are so lucky to have the NHS for sure.
