Consumer rights on my pram?

Hi all..not sure where I stand with this and hoping someone knows..

OK, so back in May 2013 I spent £370 on an Uppababy Cruz in John Lewis. My son was born in July 2013. I used the pram a lot during this first year.

By July 2014 both back tyres split all the way around the wheel! I took the pram back to JL who spoke to you on my behalf and arranged replacement wheels for me with no problem at all.

By June 2015 they'd started splitting again and Uppababy replaced them. They confirmed it's a known issue and they were replacing the tyres until they were discontinued. There were no plans to discontinue them at the time.

I've just started using it again for DD who is now 4mo and one has started splitting again. I've emailed and they've told me they're now discontinued and they're out of stock but we can buy an replacement chassis, tyres and basket for £120.

Where do I stand here? I'm annoyed we've paid so much for a pram thinking it would be used for both children, it was then known as being not fit for purpose in 2014. They're now asking for another 120 out of us. Is there anything I can do?

I think they've replaced them twice and it's now 5 years old so you've probably had your moneys worth tbh. Just buy the new chassis (if you can afford to) and stop worrying about it.

I doubt you can claim consumer rights to a new pram, after this time. Your contract was with JL not Uppababy and you knew the situation last time they replaced. Could a bike shop help?

5 years later? Tough I think. If your point about it not being fit for purpose in 2014 is your argument it should have been done in 2014z. Far to late to shout it was not for for purpose 4 years ago.

Another one saying too late now sorry.

Yeah I know this really. It's just annoying as had I known they'd discontinue them now I'd have kicked up a fuss. Lesson learned I suppose. I've set had my money's worth!
