Canceling itunes subscription urgent!

I don't know what DD has done. She needs an ipad for school and had my cc details, has done for 3 years... no problem, always asked for here and there maybe 2 euros.

Suddenly 10, 12, 15 euros is coming out of my account every week.

What can I do? We have cancelled my CC details, cancelled anything she is not sure about.

I don't want to cancel my CC it would cause me an absolute nightmare. It would mean Amazon, online shopping, any shopping, access to any money etc would be impossible for AT LEAST 2 weeks.

Am in Spain if it makes a difference. ANY help very, very gratefully received.

This may be so obvious it's silly - can you not see where the money is going? If you ring the bank they may be able to tell you a little more than you can see on your on-line statement.

KingLooieCatz · 10/10/2018 12:36

If you're sure it's I-Tunes (again, so obvious I'm sure you have tried it) have you looked on their help topics?

I rang them once to get to the bottom of something and I managed to speak to a human being who solved the problem, much to my surprise.

If you really can't track down where it's coming from, then I would advise ringing the support number that apple provide.

Sounds like a game that subscribes you without making it particularly clear. Emphasise that the user is a child and had no idea what they were doing, if you push hard enough they might even refund the charges.

SoupDragon · 10/10/2018 12:41

Have you looked at the subscriptions for your Apple ID? (Settings, iTunes and App Store, Apple ID, click on the email address to view and scrolls down to subscriptions)

Or check the purchase history (as above, just under subscriptions)

Waggamamma · 10/10/2018 12:54

I had to disable my apple ID to end my iTunes storage subscription. But that was 79p per month. It was a real pain getting it done and meant everything was wiped from my icloud.

WendyCope · 10/10/2018 13:11

Thank you all so much for your help. Yes, I am sure it's a game that she had no idea she had subscribed to... she is a very good girl and is mortified. When she gets home from school I will methodically go through all suggestions and will post the outcome as it might help someone else.

Problem is, they need ipads for school and homework now so very difficult to keep tabs, even with a good child these things seem so easy to fall into. Makes me quite cross!

Thank you again everyone, you have helped to calm me down!

You can look on subscriptions on the Ipad, but if you go on a computer and on itunes you can see the whole purchase history.

spanishwife · 10/10/2018 14:39

Good luck and hope you find the solution.

I would recommend going forward that you change your settings so that you MUST enter a password before each purchase is confirmed, and don't give the password to your DD. Not because you don't trust her but just so you can make sure it's all legit and can read the terms etc.

WendyCope · 10/10/2018 14:42

Thanks, I'll definitely do that Spanishwife

Soupdragon Thanks! Genius, I managed to cancel it doing what you suggested.

Thanks to EVERYONE though! I am so grateful

Marvellous! So glad you found it.

Catlover97 · 10/10/2018 16:25

I appreciate you've resolved but just want to reiterate what King said further up. DS did the exact same to me in the summer, I rang the helpline and spoke to a v helpful man who cancelled said subscription and also refunded me the initial one. That was on a Friday evening if I recall, no waiting etc. Other companies call centres could learn a thing or two...

WendyCope · 10/10/2018 16:35

Thank you Catlover I'll certainly look into this! Problem is I'm in Spain and can see a few things being lost in translation. I'll speak to Spanish (D)H when I next see him!

I'm just soo relieved. This is something all parents really need to look out for, it was a 'free trial' my sweet DD signed up for and cancelled and of course, they had her then. Complete scam.

Just call the English call centre - I too am in Spain and that's what I do, despite speaking Spanish, but it's a global company, shouldn't matter.
