Go on, tell me... what's your best tip for saving money?

I want to follow this for tips!
Currently I meal plan for the week and shop in Aldi, buying only what we need, no extras.
No more cafe visits, picnics only when we go out.
Switched energy supplier.
A friend only takes a set amount of cash out each week and that's her money for the week, once it's gone, it's gone. I might try that too!

Don't go shopping unless it's really necessary.
If you see something you want, wait a few days and see if you still want it.
Drink tap water.
Take a packed lunch.
Turn the heating down and put on a jumper and woolly socks.
Cancel a gym subscription and go for a walk instead.
Don't have children!

Shop around

Walk if you can, leave the car at home.

Before buying something ask yourself if you really NEED it.

Take a packed lunch.

Sell unwanted items

Make simple, cheap meals. Omelettes, jacket potatoes, pasta, veggie curries.

Don't waste any food if possible.

Shop later in the day to get bargains.

I find tips on how threads like these to be a bit cart before horse. Work out your bills first then what you spend needlessly then.... Cut back.

Keep a spending diary for a month, write down EVERYTHING. then work out where you can cut back

Also prioritise. You can't have everything so decide what's important to you and what you can do without. E.g. Do you love travelling? Then you can't go out to dinner/get takeaways every week. Are you saving to buy a house? Then skip a holiday for a few years

Cooking from scratch and meal planning are good ways to be efficient with money. Also cook in batches and freeze leftovers

Don’t buy lattes / smoothies / fruit pots / sandwiches/ treats every working day. It’s so easy to save £10-15 a day by making your own lunch & drinking tap water.

If you smoke, quit.

If you gamble, including the lottery, quit.

If you drink, do so at home.

Look at your statements, and make a list of everything you subscribe to eg gym, Netflix, Sky, charities, memberships, newspapers, Amazon Prime, phone.

Cancel everything.

Put your phone on PAYG, then only re-subscribe to things you genuinely can’t live without.
