Which food mixer should I get?

I don't have the biggest of budgets. I was looking at the KitchenAid, kenwood chef and Bosch mum.

The KitchenAid is way too expensive, but the other two are ok.

But what's the difference? Does anybody have any of these that can advice me?

I have a Bosch & love it! I did originally want a KA but couldn't justify the price really & the Bosch came with more attachments for the £150 it cost.

I use it at least a couple of times a week - from lazy cheese grating (my grater's broken & I haven't got round to replacing it yet), to baking & more recently for mashing potatoes because I broke the masher & haven't got to replacing that yet either.

The only bit I don't really use is the blender, we don't tend to eat soups or make things like smoothies. I do occasionally do Yorkshire pud batter in it though.

Thankyou for your reply, and you're right, I can't justify the cost of a KA when the other two look like they do the same function.

I have a kitchenaid. Its beeeeeotiful and I love it. Its probably my single favourite possession. But you are paying for the beauty. Don't get me wrong, it works well. But I've heard others, especially the Kenwood, are just as good. Some say better tbh.

My OH bought me a red Morphy Richards mixer as a surprise 4 or 5 years ago. I was a bit Hmm as they are hardly well known for kitchen equipment (more hairdryers) It was cheap, around £100 and it is brilliant. It is much higher powered than KitchenAid or Kenwood and has made umpteen batches of dough as well as all the usual mixer things.
So pleased with it I bought a matching MR deep fat fryer which is equally good.

DH bought me a Kitchen Aid about 15 years ago, when we redid the kitchen. It's sadly looking a bit battered these days and desperately needs a new bowl but it's truly amazing and I've never had a duff cake or biscuit mix out of it.

My Mum has got a Kenwood mixer she's had since about 1972 and it's still going strong.

I went for the Kenwood chef XL, they had it on offer in Lakeland Smile
