Dp has had chest pain for hours now.
He went to a&e this morning, they did a ecg and X-ray and gave him the all clear.
He still has the pain!!
He never complains but says it's still there and he feels absolutely exhausted with it!
I've looked on doctor google and it says Heartattack but hospital say no.

Anyone any idea

heart burn??

AGHHHH · 08/10/2018 20:49

Reflux can make you think you're having a heart attack! Didn't they mention that?

Can't think of what else.

mycatplotsdeath · 08/10/2018 20:49

He has taken stuff for that.
I actually said indigestion this morning

DH had this once, they put it down to a virus or a pulled muscle.

TomHardysNextWife · 08/10/2018 20:49

Google Costochondritis and see if that's what his pain in.

I've had it since June. 3 A & E admissions, overnight stays, repeated ECGs and chest xrays. Nothing. But the pain is unbearable.

I hope he feels better soon. Did they do bloods to check his cardiac enzymes??

mikapatika · 08/10/2018 20:50

Did they do bloods?

mycatplotsdeath · 08/10/2018 20:50

His bloods were 9 ?!

Poor man, if he is still having chest pain please call an ambulance, it really doesn't matter that he was seen earlier and they couldn t find anything, he really needs to be seen again, even if it's nothing serious it will put his mind at rest. Make him rest and be comfortable.

finethen · 08/10/2018 20:51

Phone 111 if he's still in pain and they haven't given him an explanation....

HoleyCoMoley · 08/10/2018 20:51

Do you know what blood tests they did, does it hurt when he breathes, get off doctor Google if you can and let the experts help him.

KirstyJC · 08/10/2018 20:55

My DF had chest pain that was so bad they thought it was a heart attack and it turned out to be gallstones!?

When they gave him the all clear for heart attack did they offer any suggestions as to what it might be?

mycatplotsdeath · 08/10/2018 20:56

They did the bloods that show if you had a heart attack?!?!

He won't allow me to phone 111 as he has been seen today and sent him home and doesn't want to waste nhs time and money

OP posts:
HoleyCoMoley · 08/10/2018 20:58

It won't be a waste of time calling them, did the hospital give him a letter that he bought home.

mycatplotsdeath · 08/10/2018 21:00

Nope.
He was in and out in 90 mins.
Was told Monday is the busiest day

I'd phone 111 and get their advice OP. It doesn't matter that he's already been seen, he's still having the pain and that needs addressing.

I was in for nearly 48 hours the first time even though my ECGs and bloods were clear just simply because of the ongoing pain.

HoleyCoMoley · 08/10/2018 22:30

Hope dh is okFlowers

Yellowsunredroses · 08/10/2018 22:33

Was the blood test for his trophin levels?
What was the units of 9?

sazzle27 · 08/10/2018 23:50

Dont bother phoning 111... as soon as you mention chest pain they will send an ambulance anyway!

Unfortunately, the only thing available is a trip to A&E for some more bloods and another ecg.

i would imagine the blood tests they did would look at his triponin levels, and if they were normal then he would not have required a second blood test 4-6 hours later to recheck levels..

I can't really offer you any explanation for what it might be though without assessing (near impossible online!)

If you have a local walk in centre, try that?
Even phoning 111 for an out of hours GP appointment would be In vain as hey will dispatch an ambulance!
(If they do and you dh does not want one...you can cancel it by phoning 999, even if the person at 111 says "it has been sent, it cannot be cancelled")

sazzle27 · 08/10/2018 23:51

Personally my advice would be that he needs to be seen, as constant/persistent chest pain is not normal and there are so many things that could be causing it, some of which may not have shown up this morning...

sazzle27 · 08/10/2018 23:52

(Fwiw i work emergency frontline on an ambulance 👍🏻)
