Lego for 3.5yr old

ratbaggy · 08/10/2018 19:48

Hi all, the Lego age restrictions say for age 5 plus. My 3.5year old is so interested in it and wanting to get him pieces for Christmas but is this too young?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

It's fine - mine liked the free block sets at that age but follows the instructions well now at just 4 so follow their interests.

They have Lego junior which would be fine if his fingers are nimble enough and he with shove pieces up his nose..

*he won't shove

Same age. We started with the £5 Lego classic boxes and I just got him this, he adores it and can follow the instruction without help (we use a tray)

My 3.3 year old loves Lego. We sit and do the big sets together.

We started out with lego junior and added the classic lego in the yellow boxes at some point after turning 4.

I think if it's just plain sets of blocks they should be fine. My 5 and 3 YO still find building the sets up (like Lego city) a bit tricky and too easily destroyed. They both still enjoy their duplo as well.

RandomMess · 08/10/2018 20:09

Mine loved duplo and happily played with it until 9, only sold it as we moved house!

DelurkingAJ · 08/10/2018 20:16

Fine. DS1 started then...DS2 is 2.5 and loves building with it and gets very cross if we suggest Duplo might be more suitable.

Ah this is great! Excited to get shopping for some sets. Thanks everyone
