I hate wearing a bra.

Just a rant. Smile

I find them so uncomfortable. The first thing I do when I get in the house is take it off- although as I’m nursing I have to wear them in the house sometimes otherwise I ruin my clothes.

I don’t have big boobs but would feel super self conscious going out without a bra unless I’m wearing a baggy jumper or something. Even then it would only be to walk the dog. I wish it was more socially acceptable to go braless!

It sounds like you are wearing the wrong size. I have never felt uncomfortable in a bra (32B here)

Have you ever been fitted properly? While nursing you're not only a different size but totally different shape with different support needed, so almost no chance of your existing bras being any good at all.

That said, the feel of popping it off at the end of the work day... joy!

Try the Uniqlo Airism (?) one, total revelation!

I have been fitted recently and have a couple of nursing bras. Maybe worth going back though I suppose as I’m 3 months in now.

Thanks Velour I will check that out. Smile

There seems to be a misconception that only larger-breasted ladies wear the wrong size, but this isn't true - plenty of women out there wearing a 36A who actually need a 32C.

Sorry OP, I know we're like a stuck record around here, but honestly, go for a bra fitting and get your size right.

Where did you go for a fitting - not M&S by any chance?

Babyshark2018 · 08/10/2018 11:42

Mothercare did my fitting, she seemed to know what she was doing.

I have some comfyish ones but they have removal pads which I find annoying when you bring the strap down to feed as they don’t go back in the right place.

I don’t trust any ship except Bravissimo, they all seem to be trained to add inches or fit it weirdly for no reason.

Use this calculator, as your boobs change with nursing and after you can keep using it booborbust.com

FWIW my bras are very comfortable as they reallt fit properly

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/10/2018 11:53

Me too. I’ve lost weight this year so have measured regularly, I did a ‘bra intervention’ thing, so the size is right but it’s the actual bra that is uncomfortable. I have wide cups so I’m a 30C or 30D or 32C (depending on the style), anything less is clearly not big enough, and yet I have literally no fullness to my bust so I feel a total fraud buying those sizes. And the wires dig in to my chest. I cannot go braless.

Then I discovered Sports bras and oh my, they are so comfy. I have a few new balance ones and they are amazing.

Molke? They are like a supportive crop top. Very, very comfortable and ace for feeding in. Do the boob or bust calculator first though. Mothercare are shit.

I was (pre boob or bust) a 34B. Boob or bust put me at a 30f or G, and it bloody fits and is so comfortable!
