So...DP rearranged the airing cupboard

The airing cupboard was a bit untidy, as we have too many towels so it’s hard to get everything in. So DP rearranged it and admittedly now it’s very tidy.

BUT...he’s just put everything in by size, so mixed up hand towels and bath mats, and the smaller bath towels with the big bath sheets, and the “best” towels with the tatty ones. And he insists that everything needs to be folded into squares, whereas I fold by four lengthways so the hand towels fit at the side of the bath towels. It all looks neat and perfect at the moment, but that’s because most of the towels are in the utility waiting to be put away. And they don’t fit.

He says mumsnet will agree with him that the only way to fold a towel is in three lengthways then in half. So into a square. I say he’s wrong as it doesn’t fit the airing cupboard.

Who’s right??? And I’m laughing as I type before I go and rearrange it

I fold in half lengthwise, then into 3. They go on the shelf with the folded edges facing forwards, and the bath towels next to the matching hand/hair towels, the appropriate bath mats are rolled and put behind them. I put the towels in lengthways as they fit better that way. Have 2 shelves like this and the swimming towels folded the same way but widthways on the shelf below.

Small hand towels are folded the same way and are in 2 piles, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Kitchen towels are kept in the kitchen.

All are in order of colour. The rest of the house is a tip but my towels are immaculate.
