Small soy milks - boring post alert.

Does anyone know where we can buy small cartons of soy milk?

We only use it when my mum visits, so enough for a couple of cups of tea. It feels such a waste. She won't take it with her in case it spills on the journey and DS and DH don't like it and I can't have it so it literally gets put down the sink as she walks out the door. She doesn't like the 'growing up milk'.

Holland and Barrett are the only place I have ever seen any

I do wish they sold Oatly etc in smaller cartons as they are handy for holidays etc

ParadiseLaundry · 05/10/2018 14:34

I think you can get toddler cartons of Alpro with a strawin most supermarkets, they'd be with the cartons of milkshakes I would think. We've ha them before but got them as a one off from Heron Foods

Peasinthefreezer · 05/10/2018 14:36

Supermarkets sell pack of 3 single use cartons. Usually with the long life/uht milks.

Peasinthefreezer · 05/10/2018 14:37

Snap beat before

Peasinthefreezer · 05/10/2018 14:37

Bestbefore even 😬

The little ones in supermarkets are the toddler milk, which mum says taste different as we tried that. I'll try Holland and barrett.

I was looked for similar for a camping trip this summer (addicted to morning cuppa but no access to refrigeration) but had no luck.
I know it probably wouldn't make much diffence costwise to buy a big one and chuck the rest away but it's just such a WASTE!

Oatly, are you listening?

bestbefore · 05/10/2018 15:20

You can get coconut milk in Sainsburys in small cartons but it's not quite the same in tea as tastes very coconutty!

MotherWol · 05/10/2018 15:27

Oatly and Alpro both do 250ml cartons of their single cream alternatives, would they be too creamy tasting for tea?

LaundryHepburn · 05/10/2018 20:03

Freeze the leftovers in an ice cube tray. Once they're frozen, transfer to a ziplock bag or plastic container. Take out as many cubes as you need each time she comes to visit.

TwigTheWonderKid · 05/10/2018 20:30

I thought I saw them in Waitrose yesterday

Otherwise Amazon?.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 05/10/2018 20:33

Sorry to jump onto the thread but I’ve been looking for the 250ml cartons of Oatly (the milk not the cream) - they do exist, according to their website, but I haven’t seen them anywhere. Any ideas?

Bedofwool · 05/10/2018 20:36

Sorry cannot do links

Gizlotsmum · 05/10/2018 20:39

My husband found me some little pots of soy milk (like the uht pots) on Amazon

CurlsLDN · 05/10/2018 20:40

If she visits regularly, perhaps you could buy a decent screw top reusable bottle, and decant it into that for her to take home, then she can bring the bottle each time?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/10/2018 20:45

UHT non dairy is rank, it curdles in coffee

Buy the litre of fresh and neck the rest yourself , 'tis delicious
Or let your DMum take it home ( I take the remains of a carton to work, I don't think it goes 'off' like dairy does)

pickleface · 05/10/2018 20:48

The ones off amazon are rank!

TwigTheWonderKid · 05/10/2018 21:04

Can't you just put it in a small cool bag so if it does fall over on the way home it won't spill out on the car?

Gizlotsmum · 05/10/2018 21:25

Meh I didn’t find them that bad but I don’t drink coffeee only tea

Twillow · 05/10/2018 21:26

I think I've seen nets of single size portions in tesco.

LynetteScavo · 05/10/2018 21:27

I saw some in Sainsbury's this week.
