Please can I have recommendations for cordless vacuum cleaners to use in a small three bedroom house. Are Dyson really the best make ?

Which say Dyson are far and away the best make, but rated a Bosch one too.

I love my Dyson. My house is so much easier to keep clean. They're so powerful now that Dyson have stopped making corded vacuums.

Ask your friends if anyone has a Dyson or a Shark cordless you could road test, as I've heard good things about the Shark but not tried one myself.

Thanks. They are very pricey but I guess that must be because they are good.

Get a reconditioned Dyson cordless. We got one, and would literally have never known it wasn’t brand new.

And it is amazing!

Hello1290 · 04/10/2018 17:55

Oldsew - where did you buy it from ?

I have a Bosch Athlet (the pet version) that I love; much prefer it to Dyson.

FesteringCarbuncle · 04/10/2018 18:07

Shark
I've had Bosch and Dyson. The Bosch is too hard to split and it just pushed big bits around
The Dyson has too short a charge and is horrible on joints because you have to hold it in all the time. And I hate the wall mount
The shark spilts easily and the battery comes out to charge. Mine has 2 batteries

Splits

We got it from the Dyson outlet on eBay.

My DM just bought the Dyson V10 - it’s amazing! I’m going to treat myself to it when I can afford.

I still have my old plug in Dyson which is over 10 years old and working fine. I’ll then keep it upstairs and the new one downstairs.

If you split the cost over the years you have it, it’s easier to justify the £Smile

I've got a Vax slimsomethingorother, refurbished from ebay. Youtube video reviews seem to say its comparable to the Dyson V7 and I've currently had no issues with it.

We have a Bosch Athlet ; it is light, easy to use, charge is nowhere used up in 2 up 2 down, dog hair, carpets, stairs, tiles etc. I can't compare with a Dyson as I don't have one but it is highly recommended as far as I am concerned( previous vacuums; dyson *2 uprights, Electrolux goblin pull along and 2 Sebos for context)

Hello1290 · 04/10/2018 20:37

Thanks for all your recommendations. I've just seen on the Dyson website that you can pay in monthly instalments - that is a huge incentive.

Yes I want one with a proper switch. I hate my Dyson one as the switch cuts out and you have to keep it pushed down
