At what age did you stop carrying round baby's red health record book around?

I never carried it around! I just brought it out for immunisation appointments.

I never carried it around.

Why would you? It's only really used to record vaccinations, and it isn't even essential then.

Sparklingbrook · 04/10/2018 12:16

I just took mine to apppointments. I also plotted the graphs of weight and height each birthday and wrote in when they got Chicken Pox etc. and their trips to hospital with various broken limbs in case they ask when they are older.

They are 16 and 19 now.

I still have to carry my DDs at the age of 3 but that's because all her vaccines information plus up to date weight and height info. Most of my friends stopping carrying once their child turned 1 or started at Nursery/Childminders

Oh brilliant! Thanks all for your replies.
I was told when DS was born that I must always carry it around. He's now 14 months old and has a smaller toddler bag and I get fed up of carrying it around. Taking it straight out now! Lol

greaselightnin · 04/10/2018 15:13

@scaryteacher I am 23 as well and was just thinking I'd be interested to see my one lol!

It's been worth keeping it as it shows the vaccinations he had at secondary school, and is a useful record for him (which is why I keep it safe!). He was ill as a baby so it also shows the timelines for that and what was done to sort that out as well.
