There is laughter in my house again.

Sorry, just needed to share.
We've had an awful couple of years with DS's ASD, mental health and school refusal. He's wanted to die and every day was full of violent meltdowns and us walking on egg shells trying not to set him off, DD has suffered greatly witnessing it all.
After a long battle with the LA he finally got a place at a SEMH school in September. 5 weeks in and we've got a different child. He's keen to go to school every morning, talks about his day positively and this last week our home has been filled with laughter again.
We were all in such a dark place I honestly thought we'd never hear laughter again.

So if anyone reading this is going through similar, keep going, keep fighting for what your child needs, it can get better.

I’m so happy for you Flowers This is wonderful to read and gives me hope.

I’m in the thick of it right now, my 8 year old is breaking my heart as every day she has a meltdown and sobs that she doesn’t belong here and can I help her leave his world 💔

really is the most horrendous thing to see your child so broken and you have to have lived it to understand This stands out for me most though, no one understands unless they’re living it themselves.

Well done to you and your DS, you must be so proud. Sending you hugs Flowers

Lovely news Flowers

nagnag big hugs. DS used to beg us to kill him, it's awful.

Keep fighting for her.

Ds is also asking to die all the time. Says he's not normal and pointless and everyone would prefer it if he were dead. It's not something most parents would get.

There were days I just sat and cried as we were failed time and time again but I knew I had to pick myself up as no one else would fight for him

It's a full time job. I've just come in from work and had to coordinate 3 different agencies because no one talks to anyone else. It's infuriating.

NagNagN4g · 03/10/2018 18:33

Thank you, I will keep fighting for her.

I find it overwhelming how many of us are going through the same thing Sad

I can only imagine how you must feel. So pleased for you Flowers
