Worth it with the Kellogg's grown ups go free?

Would be taking a 6 year old but they have some sensory issues - are any bits particularly dark or loud or sudden?

Any free activities nearby it would be worth combining it with for a 6 year old?

Also, thinking about it I'm not sure he's seen the movie yet - would it be utterly lost on a child who hasn't?

Just took my 5 nearly 6 year old this August. As adults we thought it was fab, its basically a theatre show on the move. Ds didn't like it, he can be a bit sensitive but the story involves witches chasing you through the various scenes which freaked him out, there was a couple of lights out moments which he hated and by the end he described it as "the worst thing I've ever done" Confused, he wanted to leave but there were no obvious exits so I had to bribe him to get him to end by promising him a soft toy (which wasn't cheap at £22). However, there were other children around his age there, some seemed to be quite enjoying it and another couple were crying too.

We went to the aquarium in the afternoon and he absolutely loved that (it should also be part of the Kelloggs deal as it's also Merlin).

I went with my just turned 4yr old last week and were going back in half term (we have merlin passes so it's 'free')

He loved it (as did i) but yes there are some dark and jumpy bits, you go through different rooms and to be honest they are all pretty dark, there is one room where the lights are shut off for a few seconds and a witch pops out through a secret door. It's not scary though IMO.

I do think it would all make more sense if you had watched the films

Oh, and he hadn't seen the movie either but it didn't seem to matter.

Hmmm my DS sounds a similar nature to yours @ILoveMyMonkey and mine has a VERY loud wail if he's scared... perhaps we'll skip it as I think we'd ruin it for others if it's too frightening for him

@idrinktoomanyredbulls I'm sorry if I put you off, it's really tricky to guage how they'll take it isn't it. He was really enjoyed excited to begin with.

We went on a school trip in year 3 and there was a number of children that were upset. Mine was fine as we have merlin passes we has been before but a few were upset from the beginning and it didn't really improve for the rest of the visit.

Ha! Better to find out now! Perhaps I will go with a friend myself instead - it sounds a bit risky with my DS as to how he'd find it.
