Dark mornings- can't get up

I'm really struggling currently, I've had insomnia in the past and had cbd sleep therapy but it's getting up im struggling with now. Has anyone tried one of those wake up alarms that mimic sunset and sunrise? They look good but are pricy so don't want to waste money if not that great. Any recommendations?

Nothing works! It's called Seasonal Affective Disorder. I have no choice as I have a 2 year old that wakes up at the crack of dawn! The best thing to do IME is as soon as you wake up, splash your face with cold water as that definitely starts waking you up, make your bed and open the curtains so you "feel" ready for the day and have a cup of tea/coffee. I find jumping out of bed right away helps! The longer you stay in bed, the harder it is. Easy said than done but the initial "I feel knackered" feeling lasts minutes til you wash your face! Even better, jump straight in the shower!

I had one but it was really no different (in efficacy) as just having a light come on timer.

I love my sunrise alarm, I find it wakes me more slowly and gently, which lessens the groggy and sick feeling. I have the basic lumie and it is great - if it broke beyond repair I would be straight out to replace it!

Interesting that two of you say no. It's the grogginess that I'm really hating.
With my sleep therapy I know to get up and not stay in bed. I'm just feeling awful which has been ok in summer so I was hoping a light might ease me in gently like natural daylight was. Thanks!

Me and dh definitely agree the sunrise lamp helps us wake up easier, we've actually just started setting the timer again after summer. It still requires some willpower to actually leave the fluffy warm soft cloud of bed....
