Did you sterilise bottles etc at 9months.?

Steriliser just broken and don't want to fork out for a new one for next few months. Today I boiled bottles in a pan. Would you even bother sterilizing any more?

I sterilised bottles until 12 months, then we were encouraging DS to drink out of sippy cups. And those went through the dishwasher! But I used the sterilising tablets, they were great!

@Magpie1976 yes I wondered about that!

dishwasher on a hot cycle?

At about 6 months I caught my child licking the floor and seeing as she survived that I decided that properly clean and washed bottles probably would be ok

We had stopped by then, just used hot soapy water.

I have a DS who was 8 weeks premature and the advice in North America is so totally different - both pediatrician and dietician said to sterilize bottles to two months adjusted age and then we could stop. But our formula also doesn’t advise on the directions in making it to pour boiling water over the powder to kill bacteria either like it did when I lived in the UK. A bit confusing.

I agree, that is confusing. Am surprised it's such different advice. Surely formulas not different from UK to US. And some conflicting advice given in UK too it seems
