Ikea: What do I need?

Placing an order with a company that brings it over (no IKEA where I live). I need a Brimnes wardrobe (because it's small enough to fit, but if they're awful please someone tell me), some extra legs for existing furniture, plus some of their cheap plastic containers and sealable bags. What else do I need? Trawling the website (in a foreign language) just isn't the same as wandering the floor....

Also want a chest of drawers but the floors here are very uneven (think weathered stone with dips like old stairs), and I can't attach them to the stone walls so I'm not sure how stable they'll be...

If you get a set of drawers with four legs rather than one that rests on the bottom edges then you can more easily wedge bits of wood under the legs to stabilise it. You can also wedge the front legs slightly higher than the back ones, making it lean back towards the wall a tiny bit, which is more stable. Sorry I don't know much about IKEA though, following for when I make the trip myself soon.

Good thinking, catsofa ... I hadn't thought of ones on legs specifically, but I shall now.

Brimnes is not awful but it's cheap and cheerful.

Posted too early.

What space does it need to fit in?

Get
Washing up brushes
Golden coasters
A throw
Velvet cushion

That's the rules.

There is a new tea light tray so you might as well get that. And obviously those hooks.

Can't you get a Pax?

sentenceinterrupted · 30/09/2018 23:04

It's only about 80cm wide. In a room about 200 years old.... with built in furniture of a similar vintage. Brimnes seems to suit better than trysil wardrobe that was my other thought. (There are other wardrobe doors with a recessed panel, albeit less modern).

Our town has a 3 day event shortly whereby the whole place is lit by tealights strung from the houses and scattered everywhere (council even turns off the electricity on the street lights). We have a massive amount of tea lights in preparation :-)

I am considering a pax for a different room (which has a level floor), but I think I'll get a wall with a bed and cupboards, which will not be from Ikea, but will give my youngest somewhere to go to when she grows out of her cot.

Washing up brushes definitely, thanks!
off to google golden coasters....

I do love a good mirror tile (had a few spares from Ikea which got used for my home births!), but we've already got a few on the walls here that the owner put up so don't really need anymore. I suspect I'd go mad with all the 'small' stuff if I was actually in a store; we don't have such good supplies of 'stuff' where I am.

I think my children would use those as frisbees.....
