DD 14 has a non-blanching rash, I hasten to add they are fairly sure by this point that it’s not meningitis but are checking bloods etc.
It’s been a very long day!
Anyway, I just wanted to share how awesome teenagers are, they get a really crappy press but actually, they’re awesome. As awful as it sounds, it’s been lovely spending one-on-one time with her. She’s asleep atm so I thought I’d post and see if anyone else has an awesome teen that they (on the whole Wink ) enjoy spending time with or is this like when you kinda enjoy it when your toddler is ill because they sit still and cuddle? I could be a bit delusional, it’s been a long day 😂

My teens are pretty lovely most of the time.
It's scary when they are ill but in a different way from when they are toddlers.
It sounds like you've done the right thing in going in to hospital. Have you been there long?
What are her symptoms ?

Is it ITP? (Low platelets) - that is what it was when my DS had a non blanching rash.
He was well in himself which is one of the hallmarks of ITP - they look ghastly but feel fine.
Hope DD is soon better x

Ds used to get those lots.
What the medics told me once that the rash is a late symptom. Basically by the time it comes out they'll be very ill. If she's been sitting up chatting, then the chances of it being anything other than viral or low platelets is pretty low.

It’s HSP www.nhs.uk/conditions/henoch-schonlein-purpura-hsp/ she’s fine and we’re home thankfully, follow-up with the GP.

Glad it is something less scary - I well know the terror of seeing that rash appear. Get a good rest today if you can x
