We watched a clip of the show today and would love to go but it's SO expensive!

Has anyone been?? Are the high up seats ok?

I would say yes. The high up seats were fine IMO.

My girls aged 9 and 7 loved it.

Fiffyshadesofgreymatter · 30/09/2018 19:14

YES!!

If you can, book for unpopular time. So not a weekend because if they don't fill all the seats they sometimes move the people from the higher seats down to better seats rather than having them empty. I got moved down for avenue q and phantom of the opera.
But even if you don't get moved to better seats, the high up seats aren't bad. You can see everything and enjoy it just as must.

BabarKingoftheElephants · 30/09/2018 19:19

I got tickets about a week before going. I paid £70 per ticket for front row tickets which I think is considerably cheaper than the usual price. This was for a Wednesday matinee performance. However I'd recommend going slightly further back as we couldn't see some of the stage. It was an incredible show and well worth seeing.

gabsdot · 30/09/2018 19:22

Yes. It's an amazing show.

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 30/09/2018 19:27

we had one of the boxes, which IMO are good value. they are sold as restricted view, but when you are 6 any seat is potentially restricted view. In the boxes they can move their chairs or stand up to see better if needed. Plus you get a member of the chorus in with you at points, which is great. I think the tickets were £40-45.

AlexanderHamilton · 30/09/2018 19:30

I took Dd when she was 6. It was an amazing show. However she doesn’t remember much about it now 10 years later.

Helmetbymidnight · 30/09/2018 19:32

Kids love it.

The view is pretty good all round I think.

daphine2004 · 30/09/2018 19:33

Definitely!

PlaymobilPirate · 30/09/2018 19:42

We can only go 27th or 28th Oct so fairly pricey!!

Seen it twice and it's fabulous.

BabySharkDooDooDooDoo · 30/09/2018 20:16

Im going to go see it next year when it comes to disneyland paris it looks amazing

AlexanderHamilton · 30/09/2018 20:20

We sat in that side section at the back of the stalls.

RhythmStix · 30/09/2018 20:25

It is very expensive but such a fabulous show.....you won't regret it !

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 30/09/2018 21:17

I would say the high up seats aren’t actually okay for that age... sorry.

If you have a limited budget how about school of rock?

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 30/09/2018 21:18

Lion king is incredible... (I’ve been ten times 😂) but if you can’t see... it isn’t.

purplemunkey · 30/09/2018 21:21

Yikes - I'm surprised by all the answers. I was really disappointed with it. I was really looking forward to it as it has been on my list for years but it's one of my least favourite shows I've seen. I figured all the 'amazing' reviews were from years ago as I'm sure it was groundbreaking when it first opened.

I much preferred Aladdin, which I was expecting to be underwhelmed by.

lboogy · 30/09/2018 21:23

Totally worth it

HermioneWeasley · 30/09/2018 21:24

I loved it -we went to see it last year and I could have sat down and watched it again when it finished.

Saw Aladdin the year before. Soulless shit. Guy playing Aladdin was a charisma free zone who forgot his lines. I wanted a refund!

capercaillie · 30/09/2018 21:25

DD saw it two years ago when she was 7. She loved it and still plays the songs.

MrsGrindah · 30/09/2018 21:29

My DH now 59 loves it and we have seen it 3 times. He cries every time and would go back tomorrow!

YourVagesty · 30/09/2018 21:31

One of the best experiences of my life and i'm glad I spent the extra few pounds to get seats near the front. Not to ruin the surprise but the opening act is just breath-taking from the front.

BackforGood · 30/09/2018 21:46

GOing against the grain here a bit, in that I think that is a massive mount to spend taking a 6 yr old to the theatre. They are a bit unpredicatable still at that age.
Don't get me wrong, I think it is a wonderful, wonderful show, but I'd wait until they were about 10 when a) you'll be more confident they will enjoy it and b) they have more chance of remembering it.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 30/09/2018 22:01

School or rock side seats go for £15.

And it’s amazing.
