Do I take this to a solicitor?

I had an accident at work over a week ago which has left me somewhat incapacitated, unable to do lots of things around my home and struggling to look after my daughter.

I am really hoping I'm allowed back to work this week but the nurse I saw after a dressing change advised me it's not the best idea.
All my in laws are telling me to go to a no win solicitors as they see it as negligence on my work places part.
Me, I'm seeing it as one of those things.
I am sufficiently out of pocket.
Would you bother?

If you are struggling at home how will you manage also being at work. Your accident should have been reported, what happened, was it just a mishap or negligence. You might have to see occupational health if you have one at work, your doctor can advise when you go back to work, are you being paid sick leave. I wouldn't go to a tv solisitor, are you in a union who will be better,

Depends what caused the accident and whether protocol was followed correctly. You would need to demonstrate your loss - have you been paid, had extra expenses etc. Is it likely to cause longer term issues?

Not enough info really

How did it happen?

Are you being paid sick pay?

What exactly do you hope you achieve by taking legal action - money? Better safety at work? What outcome are you looking for?

This happened to me many years ago - apple core left on a long flight of stairs and a truly painful and bloody scary fall from top to bottom.

HR and all of the management who spoke to me recommended that I sued on the grounds that they had insurance and I had been hurt/damaged. I got some compensation and continued to work for them until the company dissolved a decade later.

So, as you have obviously suffered harm, you could sue them. If you have suffered financial loss, as in only getting SSP, you should sue them.

It isn't wrong or greedy to do so! You have suffered harm and are suffering consequences
