Could my flu jab not have been given properly?

I got my flu jab done at the chemist over an hour ago. I didn’t feel the needle go into my arm and just heard a spray sort of sound then my arm was wet.

There’s no red mark, no swelling, no heat or achiness like I usually would have by now. Could the pharmacist not have done it right?

Mine was much less painful this year, usually I get a red, hard lump and it feels really bruised and uncomfortable for a couple of days but this year it was just a tiny scratch with the needle and it felt mildly sore for a day.

Yes, we have about 3/4 different types of flu jab in our fridge at work this year, depending on which age group a person falls into.

Have to say mine this year really didn’t hurt at all - only sign afterwards was a tiny pin prick on my arm. Yes we did our flu fair today and had different vaccs for over & under 65 - I believe the under was 3 strains and the over 4, but I might have that totally wrong (I’m admin, not clinical staff)

It definitely sounds a less painful cocktail than usual then

I’ve always had side effects with the flu jab and had mine last weekend and nothing! I was pleasantly surprised, hope this is a sign of things to come.

Maybe there’s a conspiracy. Maybe they haven’t got any vaccine so they’re just pretending to give people it and we all come to the conclusion it has no side effects this year 😀

Yes I know that they are trained but a Nurse who has been nursing 30 years has been doing it a lot longer than Pharmacists who have only had training in administering flu injections in the last few years. It's all about targets and payment for each injection by the Local Health Board anyway.

Had mine yesterday, it hurt. And it woke me up in the night hurting.
It's fine now though Grin
