She’s asking for a good TK Maxx but I’ve no idea how close one will be, they are heading home tonight. Doesn’t want to eat but we will go for a coffee later. Is there a left luggage does anyone know.

Saint. Pancras Station is so very beautiful, next door, good for coffee & people watching. As is too The British Library, next next door, with a stunning free exhibition of national treasures (Beatles lyrics, first printed bible, gun plot letter, Henry VIII letter...) & it has free WiFi. (Easily spend 3 hrs.)

The nearest TKMaxx is Charing Cross Rd so a short Tube ride away.

The area north of KX is lovely to wander around now if she’s the wandering around sort.

Left luggage certainly at st Pancras next door behind Boots.

JassyRadlett · 29/09/2018 13:08

And yes, there’s a left luggage office near platform 9.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 29/09/2018 13:10

Bit harsh OP , leaving DM as left luggage Grin

Just jesting . Don't know Kings X much but I have heard and been told it is far improved to what it once was .

It’s unrecognisable I miss the old one in a way. The “friend” will be happy to sit in a pub and mind the bags I think.

Go to the British Museum, its near Russell Square tube station which is only one tube stop away or a 10-15 minute walk from Kings Cross. I think there is a TK Maxx in Covent Garden which is only 3 or 4 stops on the tube.

I did the British Museum last week but I shall ask them. It won’t interest her but the chap might like it.

Charing Cross Road TK Maxx is better than the one in Long Acre (Covent Garden branch) but it's not a direct Tube line from King's Cross. Either Northern line to Euston and change to Charing Cross branch for Tottenham Court Road station, or Piccadilly line to Holborn and change to Central line for Tottenham Court Road.

Or Piccadilly line to Covent Garden or Leicester Square for the Long Acre branch.

What else does she want to do? Cultural or just shops? Tottenham Court Road is near the British Museum so you could combine it with a trip to TK Maxx.

The Wellcome collection museum is free and has a good cafe. Down the main road near Euston.

NannyR · 29/09/2018 13:36

I can second the suggestions of the British library and Wellcome collection, both in easy walking distance and free.

EachandEveryone · 29/09/2018 14:18

I’m not sure if welcome is open Saturday

Wellcome institute is open on Saturdays.

Granary square is all shut off as there’s a festival on tonight we are currently at the old church

Piccadilly line to Covent Garden.

raeray · 29/09/2018 14:37

There's a very good TK maxx in Hammersmith - maybe 20 mins on Hammersmith and city line. Short walk from tube.
Much better than the Charing Cross road branch in my opinion.
But also agree Charing Cross better than Covent Garden Grin

We’ve just spent two hours in And Other Stories my 75 year old mother has a better figure than me and suits anything. They won’t have any on those frocks up North apparently so she’s bought half the shop. Now refusing to move off the bench even though the trains not for a good hour.
