Why can't make up be kept in a sort of vending machine in shops?

The usual maddening scenario of looking at make up. Teenage girl opening random things that aren't the testers to try them out and then putting them back on the shelf! Meanwhile I was trying to buy an eyeliner and all the ones I picked up had been used. Grrr. Vending machines would solve this problem, have the testers, yes, but keep all the other stuff tucked away and then people would have to pay for it first! I'm now at the point of only buying things that are either shrink wrapped or that are solid (so I can see if they've been used) in shops, everything else I buy online now. I've seen too many people using lip gloss, mascara and nail polish that maybe other people might want to buy!

That's a really good idea - go on dragons den with it.

I'm sure I've seen a fb post of a Benefit make up vending machine, possibly in an airport.

It's a brilliant idea! I shop lower end make up brands & 3/4 of everything on the shelves has usually been used as a tester even if there are testers there to be used :(

Damn, looks like I'm on to something! I'd need some sort of crowdfunding thing to help me get started. (I was in Wilkos looking at the Essence stuff, gave up on the eyeliners and bought some lipsticks instead.)

Oh yes, shop assistants. I live and breathe make up, I know more about make up than most people. I normally get "Oh, you'd love this colour!"
"I've already got that one."
"Oh."

Hehehe.
High end brands in department stores I find the least pushy, although I did fill out a little survey in the MAC shop in Peterborough the first time I went in there because they were lovely. (I only bought one lipstick.)

Have a look at kick starter. The people who contribute get something - maybe a gift card to buy something?

They have these in the US.
