Good suggestions above.

Also... Food and drink festival in Albert Square

then cut up Lloyd Street to St. Peter's Square.

Turn the corner and visit the Art Gallery.

Northern Quarter for a trendy, hipster vibe.

Deansgate for higher end shopping.

There's so much more, I could go on. Grin

Oh cake at the cat cafe too.
And Afflex Palace is still OK.
Granada Studios if you like coronation Street.

ForalltheSaints · 28/09/2018 21:16

Imperial War Museum and the Lowry Centre.

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 28/09/2018 21:17

People's history museum is unique and brilliant if you like social and political history
Whitworth Art Gallery - I'm not an art gallery sort of person but I enjoyed it
Affleck's Palace if you like quirky independent shops (and the wider Northern Quarter)

ShirazSavedMySanity · 28/09/2018 21:58

Find some of the bees!!!!

User5trillion · 29/09/2018 09:24

Wow more suggestions thank you! Not a corrie fan but love the idea of quirky independent shops. The people history museum sounds great too. Off to do more googling.

You'd like Afflex then and the Northern Quarter in general.

Agent13 · 29/09/2018 10:12

The bee trail has finished now Shiraz

MaderiaCycle · 29/09/2018 10:18

People's History Museum, Cake at Home Sweet Home in the Northern Quarter, Whitworth Art Gallery if you like that sort of thing.

FemmeFatal · 29/09/2018 10:20

John rylands library is stunning

Summersun111 · 29/09/2018 10:26

Food and drinks festival Albert square!

Lovely bars and restaurants In spinningfields

QuaterMiss · 29/09/2018 10:29

Take the tram from St Peter’s Sq to Salford Quays and stroll along the canal to the Lowry. (Best if you have tickets for a show.) Cross the bridge to the Imperial War Museum.

While following all the suggestions here do remember to look up. Magnificent red brick turrets juxtaposed with newness.

lastqueenofscotland · 29/09/2018 11:20

John Rylands library
Tea and cake and Teacup in northern quarter
Lunch at This and That which is down some grotty alley near shudehill but is amazing
Hop on a tram to sale water park and go for a stroll along the Mersey
Peoples history museum is good.
Avoid deansgate locks and Piccadilly gardens

Agentornika · 29/09/2018 12:25

Sadly the bees are gone, I was one of the volunteers who helped install/remove

PoptartPoptart · 29/09/2018 15:13

Do you like football op?
If so, the national museum of football is actually really interesting. It’s free to get in and you can do it in a couple of hours.

User5trillion · 30/09/2018 10:11

Can't be doing with football! But looks like I am going to need more than 1 day. Thanks for all the suggestions
