I wanted to start a thread celebrating good stuff.

I have one to start us off. Things are really tight financially. I am out of work and my partner is self employed in a tough market. One of the kids was scammed in the summer making a tough time even tougher.

At the weekend I was at the bus station leaving a coach and waiting for a bus. While I was there my purse was stolen. Ordinarily this would have been a disaster but this was catastrophic as I had all of our cash in it for October as we had been paid for a job.

I also lost my driving licence, loaded bus pass and so on. I just felt sick.

Today I had a call from the station to say the purse has been handed in 5 days after the theft with all the contents there including the cash.
I know it seems unbelievable. I may have had a few tears.

Anyone else want to share?

That's lovely news.
I actually believe there are loads more honest people in the world than those that aren't, it just doesn't get reported in the same way.

I'm often struck by how many people give so much of their time, to helping other people. The activities my dc have done, growing up, have all been run by adults giving up hours and houra and hours of their time, to make events and weekly activities happen for other people's dc. Plus all the people who volunteer informally - getting in some shopping for a neighbour, or accompanying them to an appointment or whatever. Millions and millions of hours of 'doing something for others'
