How to formally acknowledge NHS good delivery of care

Posting here for traffic:

A close relative of mine has received fabulous care from her local GP who has been fantastic in attending to her wellbeing and that of her family.

I'm wanting to acknowledge this formally but can't find a route to do this other than write to him myself (which I will do). I'd like his excellent delivery of care to be more formally recognised.

Does anyone know who I could write to in order to do this. The GMC just seems to be about complaints ...

Could you contact the practice manager?

We wrote to each department involved in my Mum’s care to thank them for their wonderful support and care for her. We also wrote to the chief of the NHS trust to commend them and received a response.

GP's are contracted to NHS so technically are 'self employed' so write directly to the GP by name. This sort of written acknowledgement of good practice will be used by the doctor in her/his annual appraisals and in CQC inspections, so your letter will be prised.

OP I could almost cry that someone actually wants to pass on positive feedback about NHS staff www.nhs.uk/about-us/patient-opinion/ is somewhere you can do this, it will mean so much to those who have been involved- l once was actually mentioned in a patient's death notice in local paper for end of life care had provided and it meant so much to me- although of course am majorally aware of the small speck l was!
