How much do you do with your 2 year old ?

A few months back our morning walk with our dog and an activity = lunchtime nap for DD.

But now she's either not napping at all or having a late 4pm snooze which is less than ideal.! And I'm finding it hard to entertain her --keep her from watching hours of TV

DD has also started going to a playgroup two mornings a week since start of September ( where you leave them there for 3 hours) and she's not even tired after this!!!

I'm running out of ideas. They do a lot of crafts etc on the playgroup mornings.

Played in the garden a bit today as was sunny and watered the plants etc but I need ideas.

We usually do some baking once a week like fairy cakes. Help any suggestions ?

I work full time, so not with my two year old a lot, but I split activities up, rather than having a free for all with toys out. Eg - cars/small world play/play doh/painting/colouring/musical instruments/sand and water/garden and garden toys/reading book etc.
Baking is generally once per week.
TV time is limited, and generally a short episode of Blippi or something else educational.
Out of the home activities include trip to the park, museum, walk on the canal/local ponds/woodland area, trip to the shops, early viewing at the cinema, trampoline park toddler session, swimming etc.

As I'm not with him in the week I generally don't do the playgroups, rhyme time etc

He's also dropping his nap, but dividing the day into slots, broken up with reading or tv (so that I can clean up any activity mess/complete household chores) does seem to give it more structure, hold his interest and wear him out more!

I used to give DD books and puzzles. If she wanted the TV I said it wasn't working!

I did used to play some children's CDs or audiobooks in the background so it wasn't silent all day!
