It was bound to happen eventually, DH forgot to bring the car home.

Grin Since the start of Sept he's been dropping DS to school in the mornings (unless he's working abroad) then leaves his car in the car park at the tram station and takes the tram to work. He did say at the start that one day he would probably forget about the car because he often takes a taxi home from work, and today he did forget because he was rushing home so he could take DD to football practise.

It's not a big deal really, it's just funny. He's taken DD in m car and when he gets back he'll walk down to the station (only about 12 mins) and pick up his car.

Twice a few years ago I walked home half a mile from school and left my bicycle behind. The second time when I realised it was pouring with ☔ and my neighbour drove me back. As I went galloping into the car park to retrieve the bike the headmaster was leaving the building. He declared it was very worrying that I had done it not once but twice!!! 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

Presumably because he doesn't have time to walk dc to childcare/school and then back to station? Or school/childcare is further from house? My dc school is much further than a 12min walk. It would easily take 30mins walking. Without adding in child speed.

Ivykaty he takes DS to school first (not walkable), the tram station is on his way back to the house so he just parks there because he's already pushing it to get into work on time (although he is the boss so I'm not sure who would tell him off, perhaps he's setting a good example). If he doesn't stop at the tram station it would be about 3 mins to drive from there back to the house and park, and then 12 mins to walk to the station, so an extra 15 mins later into the office. Plus it only costs €2 to park there for the day so there wouldn't be much of a cost saving either.

He only started doing that this month as the DC are now in different schools, starting within 5 mins of each other but in opposite directions. Before this he would just walk to the station and I would do the school run.

perhaps when their older they’ll all be able to cycle or scoot instead of being stuck in the car

Ivykaty44

That sounds a bit snobbish. Are you like that in real life?

Elderflower14 · 27/09/2018 07:41

@ivykaty44 🍪 Maybe the road isn't safe for them to cycle or scoot?? 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄
