OFSTED Nanny and 15 ‘free’ hours

My DS is 3 and nursery/ preschool doesn’t seem to be working out for him. I’m not prepared to pull him out yet but I was just wondering about a nanny. If they are OFSTED registered, can they/we claim his 15 hours as a way of reducing the nanny hourly rate? I know we need to pay holiday, tax, NI on top.

No I'm afraid not. You can use childcare vouchers or (I think) tax free childcare, but not the 15 free hours.

Ofsted reg nanny here.

No, we cannot accept the “free” hours. However, some of us, inc me, are self employed nannies, which would mean (if you can find one of us) that you don’t pay the Tax, NI, holiday pay etc.

However if the nanny ONLY works for you, she cannot be self employed.

What area of the country are you in?

I'm an ofsted registered nanny and I don't think you can - nanny ofsted registration just checks that you have insurance, first aid training, DRB and a basic childcare qualification, it's not like a nursery or childminder where the checks are more stringent and more preschool education is expected.
