Do you ever feel like you can’t be arsed to talk?!

I’ve had such a busy day. I’ve just come home from taking DD 6 to gymnastics and the minute I get in DS 8 wants to show me something on his kindle.

DH is talking to me about things that need doing at work (we work together Shock)

And I just want to sit, without talking, and eat my microwaveable paella.

I don’t want to watch you do one handed cartwheels, I don’t want to watch Dan TDM or whatever he’s called play games, and I don’t want to know what the surveyor said in his email.

I just want paella and slippers

Yes.
I often do my commute with no radio for peace. It's becoming more often than not.
I don't wamt to be a grunting spouse but sometimes I just can't.

You are me! Some days I'd be happy if nobody spoke to me and I didn't have to speak to anyone at all! My brain just wants peace.

Right there with you. I'm an administrator at work so I've spent all day with various people whining my name and assuming I can pull hotel conference suites out of my arse with a days notice/asking me fucking stupid questions about whether their pass works on the office door (I don't know, why don't you just fucking try it....)

Then I come home to a million and one questions, demands and "mummmmmmy" being whined at me several times a minute.

Tea is finally in the oven, the laundry is hanging up, the kids are mesmerised by Pop.... I just want to curl up on the sofa under my blanket for ten minutes. I don't want to wander around the house looking at various half finished DIY projects DH, and I love you and all, but if you sing "baby shark" one more time then I'm going to have a nuclear level temper tantrum.

Yes!
Sometimes DH talks to me at length about his [quite technical] work, and while I’m pleased he wants to share, I wish he’d just stfu and let me stare into the middle distance/ browse my phone/ gaze at shit telly.

In my defence, he is crap at feigning interest in my fascinating job, so there!
